Obtaining more Scouts allows you to effectively track objectives and gather additional stockpile resources in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows are an important asset. These NPCs function more like a resource and can serve multiple purposes. They help narrow down objectives, smuggle resources, or clear alert levels. While you start with a limited number of Scouts, you will need more as you progress.
You can check your available Scouts by looking at the assassin icon at the lower-left corner of the map. This guide explains everything you need to know about Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, including how to use, replenish, or unlock more of them.

How To Use Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Scouts are essential NPC resources that serve multiple purposes:
- They are primarily used for tracking quest objectives. Most quests do not provide a clear quest marker, but instead, they give vague descriptions or clues to find a specific location or character. In such cases, exploring manually can be time-consuming, but using Scouts can streamline the process. You can click the ‘Scout Objective’ option by opening the map, this consumes your Scout resource and marks the objective location.
- Another effective way to use Scouts is to smuggle the heavy loot. You find a large stockpile of resources in wealthy locations like Castle, Temple, or Encampment. Interact with them and use the ‘Sumggle Resouce’ command to perform this action. They will be available at your Hideout at the end of the season. Upgrading the Stable at the Hideout reduces the number of scouts required to collect each stockpile.
- Apart from them, you can also use Scouts to clear your alert/wanted levels at a specific region by using the ’Clear Regional Alert’ option on the map. However, you should have Level 2 Kakurega to perform this action.

How To Refill Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
While the Scouts’ resources are refiled automatically at the start of each season, you can also replenish them manually in a few ways. Once you are halfway through the season, you can use the ‘Change Season’ option on the map to advance to the next season, which refills your Scouts meter.
The most effective way to replenish Scouts is refiling them at the Kakurega. Interact with the colorful cloth sacks at the Kakurega at your Hideout and pay 200 mon to refill each Scout. You can also unlock additional Kakurega locations on the map with Mon, which allows you to refill scouts while also serving as a fast travel point. Additionally, choosing the ‘Scout Intel’ option after saving NPCs from Bandits refills a Scout.
How To Get More Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You will unlock and get your first Scout upon building the Kakurega, which takes place in the early game. After this point, the Scout’s overall count is tied with the Study building. Build the Study at the Hideout to recruit a new Scout. You can also earn additional Scouts for each Study upgrade. This increases your overall Scout count, allowing you to use them more frequently and effectively.
