How To Complete the Cliffs of Thought (Kuji-Kiri) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Venture to Eagle’s Nest in Yamashiro to complete the Cliffs of Thought Kuji-kiri activity in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The Cliffs of Thought Kuji-kiri takes Naoe to the scenic vantage point of Eagle’s Nest in Yamashiro. The side activity involves climbing a mountain and completing a quick-time event minigame to progress your Knowledge Rank and work towards the Zen Master achievement.

Completing this one will also help Naoe unravel her traumatic past and unlock the main story missions.

Cliffs of Thought Kuji-Kiri Location

Cliffs of Thought Kuji-kiri is located at the summit of a mountain in southern Yamashiro in the subregion of Eagle’s Nest. The meditation point lies directly west of Shoryuji Castle. The simplest route to reach it is to take the road leading out of Shoryuji to the north and take the left (west) turn. This path will lead to the Cliffs of Thought Kuji-kiri location over rough terrain. Once you reach the peak overlooking Shoryuji and the mountain ranges in Yamashiro, interact with the Kuji-kiri spot to begin the side activity.

How To Complete the Cliffs of Thought Kuji-Kiri Meditation

Kuji-kiri is an activity exclusive to Naoe and involves her making hand signs while meditating. To complete it, you need to complete quick-time events involving four button presses. The four buttons you need to press will be placed in four circles: top, bottom, left, and right. These activate (glow with a ring contracting around them) in a repetitive rhythm. For the Cliffs of Thought Kuji-kiri, the rhythm is:

• Top > Right > Bottom > Left

The relatively simple rhythm will repeat continuously, and you have to press the corresponding button in each circle. Once you have correctly matched the quick-time events, the tempo will quicken, and the button prompts will disappear. When this happens, you need to continue pressing the buttons in the same rhythm from memory.

If you have difficulty completing the challenge or wish to speed up the process, you can set quick-time events to ‘Auto’ in the ‘Gameplay’ settings.

Cliffs of Thought Kuji-Kiri Rewards in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Like a majority of Kuji-kiri side missions, Cliffs of Thought will reward you with 550 XP and one Knowledge Point. Additionally, there is a legendary chest directly behind the meditation point. It contains the Turquoise Zephyr – Legendary Long Katana.
