How To Beat The Poisoner (Genzaburo’s Soldiers) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Learn where to find The Poisoner and how to beat her for Genzaburo’s Soldiers quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The Poisoner is one of Genzaburo’s warriors and Koshiro’s former comrades-in-arms. However, they consider him and Naoe to be traitors and are set on killing them in the name of vengeance for Beesho Harumasa. Genzaburo’s warriors have scattered after their failed attack on Koshiro. The Poisoner must be assassinated to reach Genzaburo and complete Naoe’s side quest, Fallen Soldiers.

Genzaburo’s Poisoner Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Poisoner, like other soldiers of Genzaburo, is keeping a low profile after the attempt on Koshiro’s life. Naoe’s intel on The Poisoner’s location states that:

• She is in Settsu.
• She is west of Osaka Castle.
• Children might know a way in.

The Poisoner is located in the Nishinomaru Gardens, west of Osaka Castle in Izumi Settsu. If you track your quest marker to the children, you can follow one of them as he runs to where she hides, disguised as a biwa performer. The Poisoner sits near the center of the pond in Nishinomaru Gardens with people gathered around to watch her performance. 

How to Beat The Poisoner

The Poisoner is a challenging adversary to face head-on because of her high level and poisoned attacks. However, her move set is pretty simple and can be easily countered. The quickest way to eliminate Genzaburo’s Poisoner is to use stealth and assassinate her at night. The child will stop outside the wall of Nishinomaru Gardens. You can cross the moat and climb the scaffolding ahead to find a gap in the wall. 

Use the Observe skill, and you will see Genzaburo’s Poisoner ahead of you on the other side of the pond. People will be watching her perform even at night, but you will be harder to detect. The civilians in the crowd won’t alert others to your presence, and you can use heightened senses to find the guard patrolling the garden. 

Crouch and circle around the right side of the pond, staying in the bushes behind the audience. After looping all the way around, sneak up behind Genzaburo’s Poisoner and assassinate her.

Eliminating her will reward you with 2,000 XP, two Mastery Points, The Poisoner’s Message – Epic Bow, and Damage on Multiple Enemies Engraving.
