How to Get Blooded Greataxe in BG3? Explained

To get the Blooded Greataxe in Baldur’s Gate 3 you first need to make your way into the Goblin Camp on the far west side of the Act 1 map and then enter the Shattered Sanctum to find the trader Roah Moonglow. The Goblin Camp has two entrances:
- The main entrance, which is heavily guarded. If you’ve rescued Sazza from the Druid Grove then she will be there to vouch for you. Otherwise, you can try to use dialogue to get past the guards or simply fight them all.
- There is a main entrance you can find by traveling south. Jump down and cross the gorge over a fallen log and then get in through the back way. Be aware that this secret entrance is heavily trapped. Best to have a Rogue go in first.
Once you are inside the Goblin Camp, even if you killed all the gate guards, all the other goblins will assume you got in legitimately. Head north into the main camp where the goblins are feasting outside. Keep walking straight north and you’ll find the entrance to the Shattered Sanctum. You’re well on your way to claiming the Blooded Greataxe in Bladur’s Gate 3.
Inside the Shattered Sanctum

You’ll be challenged again by more goblin guards once you’ve entered the Sanctum. Most dialogue checks here are pretty easy to pass. You can claim you are there to meet with one of the Goblin leaders – simply choose one, it doesn’t matter. Once the guards let you by, you’re free to go anywhere in the Sanctum.
Walk down the long hallway and descend the stairs into the main open area. Take an immediate left turn and up another set of stairs. You will find Roah Moonglow right at the top, and will find the Blooded Greataxe for sale in her inventory.
How to Use the Blooded Greataxe in BG3?
The best way to use the Blooded Greataxe in BG3 is by equipping it to a front-line melee Barbarian, Fighter, or Paladin that will be in the thick of the fight. While dealing a lot of damage with the Blooded Greataxe, they will also likely be taking a lot of damage from enemies. Therefore, it will be easier to keep their health below the 50% threshold, so you can get the extra Slashing damage.
However, this means that you’ll need to keep a closer eye on their health pool at all times. Keep a healing potion or a healing spell at the ready if their HP drops too dangerously low.
