Avowed, the highly anticipated new action RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, is finally available for pre-order. While the game is an Xbox first-party title, it is also coming to PC via Steam and Xbox Game Pass.
Given that it’s the very first current-generation console title from Obsidian, players might be wondering about the game’s PC system requirements. Much like Obsidian’s previous title, The Outer Worlds, Avowed is built using Unreal Engine.
However, instead of UE4, Obsidian’s latest RPG uses the newest iteration of the engine, Unreal Engine 5.1. As is the case with most UE5 games on PC, the game comes with some hefty system requirements.
That said, the system requirements for Avowed aren’t as demanding as you might expect from an open-world game built on Unreal Engine 5. Here’s a look at Avowed’s official PC system requirements, file size, and more.
What Are Avowed PC System Requirements
Avowed, like other recent Unreal Engine 5 games, is mostly GPU-dependent. While the game does require modern CPUs, it’s not particularly heavy on that front. The recommended CPU for the game is a Ryzen 5 5600X equivalent, a Zen 3 processor that is a couple of years old.
In terms of GPU, Obsidian recommends an RTX 3080 equivalent to maintain a stable 60fps at 1440p resolution. Despite its age, the RTX 3080 is still considered among the higher-tier GPUs, competing with the likes of the RTX 4070 and the vanilla RTX 4080.
For minimum requirements, Obsidian suggests a GTX 1070 equivalent for a 1080p 30fps experience.

What Is the File Size of Avowed on PC
According to the PC system requirements, Avowed has a file size of roughly 75 GB. Considering the game’s open-world structure, this is relatively small, as most open-world Unreal Engine 5 games usually exceed 100 GB. Even some more linear UE5 titles surpass the 100 GB mark on PC. For instance, Black Myth: Wukong on PC is roughly 130 GB, despite being a linear action-adventure game.
