During chapter 8 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you will have to collect a number of Sylkis Greens to nurse Piko the Chocobo back to health in time for a race. There are a number of things you can do to earn these Sylkis Greens. One of them is the Discovery: Swindling Seminar.
What Is The Swindling Seminar in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
The Swindling Seminar is located in the Southeast part of Corel Prison. Here, you will find Conniving Caglio giving a seminar to 5 of his students on the art of the con. He will request your assistance for a practical demonstration where his students will attempt to deceive you.
Four of the students are telling a lie, while one – and only one – is telling the truth. You will be given a map by Caglio with locations marked on it to make your search for the truth easier. Talk to each of the students and then visit the locations they tell you about to discern if they are telling the truth.
Note that the student who tells the truth is different from one playthrough to another. What’s more, the truth or lie that they tell is also different sometimes. Thus, the investigation becomes a crucial part of this quest.
You are given multiple tries to figure out the truth. But keep in mind, it takes 500 Gil to make one guess. Therefore, it is recommended to get the right answer as soon as possible. Here, we’ve compiled a list of the truths and lies told by the students.
Thirsty Usain
The first student is Thirsty Usain. He makes a statement regarding the drinks at the Bail Jumper bar. To investigate, go the location marked 1 on the map Caglio gave you and take a drink from a tankard. The barkeep will inform you about their specialties and quality.

Knucklehead Toya
The second student is Knucklehead Toya. She talks about the weapons shop’s wares. To investigate, visit the location marked 2 on the map. Be careful while entering the shop, as knocking over any items will result in the vendor being unwilling to talk to you.

- The weapons shop sells elixirs.
- There are no loud noises allowed in the weapons shop.
Lies-
- The weapons shop sells potions.
- The weapons shop is very loud.
Sloppy Shawn
The third student is Sloppy Shawn. He talks about Gus’s autobiography and its availability. To investigate, head to location 3 and interact with a stack of books to inquire about its availability.

- The autobiography is in stock.
- Its name is Meditations on the Outlaw Life by Gus.
Lies-
- The autobiography is out of stock.
- Its name is Meditations on the Underling Life by Garth.
Squinty Rachel
The fourth student is Squinty Rachel. She makes a statement about the graffiti at Gus’s place. To investigate, head to location 4 and look through the graffiti on the walls.

Lies-
- There is graffiti of a Del Sol Cactuar.
Blowhard Georgie
The fifth and final student is Blowhard Georgie. He relays a rumour regarding the special monster in the Beast Battleground. To investigate, head to location 5 and participate in the Beast Battleground. There are three rounds of fights, and the final one is against a monster called Test 0.

- The special monster is named Test 0.
Lies-
- The special monster is named Type 0.
- The special monster is named Bug 0.
