Perform the knife-throw double assassination in Assassin’s Creed Shadows using these simple steps in the early game.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers a double assassination feature. This type of assassination was the hallmark of the old, popular titles in the franchise. It lets you take down two enemies in close proximity to each other without triggering an alert in the area. However, when the two enemies you wish to assassinate are standing at a distance, it becomes difficult to “double assassinate” them. Not anymore! There is a feature that lets you do the infamous “knife-throw double assassination.”
Enabling Knife-Throw Double Assassination in Assassin’s Creed
Players who wish to make stealth easier for themselves can enable a feature in Settings that lets them instantly assassinate more armored opponents. This lets them skip the skills in the skill tree related to it. However, when it comes to the ranged double assassination in the game, there is no shortcut in the Settings. Instead, players have to get a specific Legendary Light Armor in the game. This armor is called Tools Master Gear and is found inside the Legendary Chest in the Katano Castle.

As you can see, one of the default perks of this armor says, “Throw a Kunai at the closest enemy after an Assassination.” While there may be other gear pieces that enable this feature later on in the game, players can get this specific armor pretty early on in the story. As soon as you gain full control of Naoe, we suggest you head to Katano Castle, where you killed the Onryo Samurai for the first time.
Finish the Samurai Daishos in the castle. This unlocks the Legendary Chest in the main tower (the one with the synchronization spot). Open it to find this Legendary reward inside.
How To Perform the Kunai Double Assassination in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
First and foremost, you must have the Tools Master Gear armor equipped. If gear customization has been unlocked for you after unlocking the Forge in your Hideout, you can transmog and equip a different look that you prefer while maintaining the stats and perks from this one.
After equipping the Legendary Light Armor, make sure you have Kunai available and equipped instead of any other ranged tool. Console players can do so by holding LT/L2 and pressing up on the D-pad. We are not sure yet whether it works the same with Shuriken.

The effective range is also unknown for now. However, in my experience, it seems to work perfectly fine against enemies standing as far as 10 meters from the target. Just make sure that they are not completely blocked by an obstruction. If they are, lure them out of cover using a distraction bell or whistle. Assassinate one target, and Naoe will automatically throw a Kunai at the closest enemy if the said armor and Kunai are both equipped and available in the inventory.
The Kunai throw doesn’t guarantee a kill. Armored enemies or high-level enemies like most Daisho or Ronin, who don’t usually die from a Kunai headshot, won’t die from this double assassination attempt either. However, they will still take damage. So, be ready for a fight if your Kunai isn’t powerful enough yet.
