How To Locate Hozoin In’ei (Nobutsuna’s Students) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

During the Nobutsuna’s Students quest, you will encounter a sub-quest called Bandit Attack. In this sub-quest, you must defend the two civilians from the wrath of bandits. Afterward, you can talk to them to learn who taught them such combat skills.

They will inform you about their master, located at the top of the hills. Use the map to reach Choanji Yakushido. Also, the quest provides the following hints about Hozoin In’ei:

• He is in Yamato
• He is in the southeastern Asuka Rock Basin
• He is atop Choanji Yakushido

After you reach the master’s location, you will spot him carving a Buddha Statue. Talk to him to trigger a cutscene where he will test you with a question. The question asks you to choose between following the daimyo’s orders and saving the helpless people. You get the following choices:

• A samurai must obey his daimyo
• We must defend the defenceless

Select the second option to win Hozoin In’ei’s trust, and he will agree to teach and fight you.

How To Duel Hozoin In’ei (Nobutsuna’s Students) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Once the duel with Hozoin starts, you can only use Kanabo as the weapon. Kanabo is a heavy weapon, so controlling it is a challenging task. The best approach is to utilize the weapon’s momentum and strike with precision.

When Hozoin In’ei attacks, simply dodge his blow and then strike back. Repeat this process three to four times to defeat him. Once he is defeated, he will acknowledge and appreciate your bravery. Next, a cutscene will start. Also, you will receive Phantom Fist as a reward.
