How To Beat Masatoshi Nakahara (The Betrayers) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Discover where Masatoshi Nakahara is located and the best approach to eliminate him in Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ The Betrayers quest.

Masatoshi Nakahara in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is among the final targets you need to assassinate in Yasuke’s The Betrayers quest. Masatoshi Nakahara and six others betrayed Oda Nobunaga in favor of Akechi Mitsuhide. A loyal retainer, Hori Hidemasa, thirsts for vengeance and beseeches Yasuke to seek out the traitors to their departed lord. 

Although Yasuke initiates the quest, its assassinations can be carried out by Naoe. Nakahara is difficult to assassinate compared to other targets in The Betrayers quest. This is primarily because of his positioning and the higher-level enemies you will encounter. However, there is a method to seamlessly eliminate him.

Masatoshi Nakahara Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Masatoshi Nakahara can be found in Kameyama. The Tamba region has level 35 enemies, and Nakahara is protected by a heavy guard escort behind castle walls. Your intelligence on him states that:

• He is in Tamba 
• He can be found in Kameyama Castle

Kameyama Castle is south of the Tamba Highlands and in the northeast Silver Lands. A straightforward way to find the castle is to follow the river west of Kyoto along its southern bank. This route will lead you to the castle’s northern entrance, which, coincidentally, provides the best approach to Masatoshi Nakahara.

How To Assassinate Masatoshi Nakahara AC Shadows

With Masatoshi Nakahara defended by relatively high-level guards behind several layers of fortification, the best way to eliminate him is to switch to Naoe and use stealth.

• Start by facing Kameyama Castle’s northern entrance, which has a bridge leading up to it with two torches burning on either side.
• Look toward the right corner of the wall and use the Observation tool to pinpoint Masatoshi Nakahara’s location.
• Move right, cross the shallow water, and make your way around the right corner wall.
• Past the rocks with shrubs growing out of them, you will find the option to launch the grappling hook when standing near the wall.
• Grapple and climb to the top of the wall, and you will see Masatoshi Nakahara below you to the right, surrounded by guards.
  • Throw a knife at his head and eliminate him from the vantage point, or move closer for a guaranteed kill.
• Jump to the lower wall and sneak up behind him.
• Assassinate Masatoshi Nakahara and escape before the guards have time to react.
