How To beat Oni-Yuri (The Pirate Alliance) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Here is how to find the location and beat Oni-Yuri as part of the Pirate Alliance quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The Pirate Alliance is one of the many side quests available in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This particular quest will start once you reach the Wakasa region. The quest will be marked on a notice board to the north of the Tsuruga Tower viewpoint, past the bridge on your path. In this guide, we will look at how to beat Oni-Yuri in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

As we begin the quest, a cutscene triggers where Oni-Yuri is accused of poisoning the villagers with her food. She is called a lone flower living in an abandoned hamlet. We are prompted to either support or go against her multiple times, with each choice having no effect on the next stage.

Sweet Lies and Sweet Revenge in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You get to use either Yasuke or Naoe to look inside the house for clues about the possible poisoning. The first stage involves looking for evidence against Oni-Yuri. Using Yasuke is advisable because he is more doubtful of Oni-Yuri’s innocence compared to Naoe.

After finding the clues, go back to the commotions. After a brief exchange of words, Naoe defends Oni-Yuri, defusing the situation temporarily.

For the Sweet Revenge stage of this mission, we return to Oni-Yuri. After you complete the conversation through the cutscene, she asks for your help to retrieve any goods which have been stolen from her. The items are at a warehouse at the thieves’ camp. Follow the objective and complete the quest, and once retrieved, take them back to Oni-Yuri.

After that, she will ask you to be tasked to go talk to a pirate. Go to the location and kill the weakened samurai. During the cutscene, Oni-Yuri kills the pirate. She then explains her reasoning for the actions being that the samurai had killed her pirate father, and she finally had her revenge.

Kill or Recruit Oni-Yuri in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You see two last sets of choices: ‘We cannot trust you’ and ‘Join us. ‘ For this article, we will be choosing the first choice. Picking the second choice will result in us recruiting her for your cause.

Pick the first choice, and Yasuke will speak the choice. She grows resentful and flees after shooting a dart at Yasuke. After a brief cutscene, you get to choose either Yasuke or Naoe to follow Oni-Yuri.

Reach the final location at Scorched Hamlet to see her by the shore next to a dead, bloodied body. Make your way to her and trigger the duel. She uses poisoned darts and a chained hook primarily. Defeated her, and clicked the prompted button to talk with her.

The last cutscene triggers where Oni-Yuri begs for answers as to why you killed her. Weakened by her injuries, she dies.
