Assassinating in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a bit different from the previous games of the franchise. Enemies have health segments that can be removed once you assassinate a target.

That means, if you have a weapon for Naoe that only removes one, and the enemy has 3, you will have to fight the enemy as they will not be outright one-shot assassinated. The Warrior’s Garden Tanto has a unique perk that lets you take off 2 health segments while assassinating enemies.

Obtaining the Warrior’s Garden Katana in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The path to the legendary Katana also leads you to Oda Nobunaga’s betrayers, who had a hand in his death. The quest is provided by Hori Midemasa, who wishes revenge upon Oda Nobunaga’s betrayers. To receive the Warrior’s Garden Tanto, you must complete The Betrayers side-quest. Here are the steps that you can follow to do the same:

• ‘The Betrayers’ is a side-quest under the ‘People of Omi.’ This side-quest takes you to 7 different assassinations around the region of Omi.
• You begin the quest by playing as Yasuke. Talk to Hori Hidemasa, who is located at Miidera in the Mouth of Seta. He is a retainer of Oda Nobunaga and will tell you about the seven betrayers.
• These are mainly stealth missions, switching to Naoe is important. It is recommended that you level up to 50.
• You will receive rewards for every assassination, and the destination of each assassination will be marked on your world map. How you wish to approach the assassinations is upon you.
• When you reach Usami Yoshiko as your target, talk to her as the game tags her as a civilian before you talk to her. Eliminating her before you talk will desync you.
• After the final assassination of Masatoshi Nakahara, you will receive the Warrior’s Garden Tanto and in-game currency.
• You can return to Hori Hidemasa and talk to him as Yasuke. In the non-canon mode, you can also flirt with him if you want to. The quest concludes with you receiving Hori Hidemasa’s Helmet and gold, a crafting material.
