Assassin’s Creed Shadows features many activities, such as the main campaign, side missions, and collectibles. The Kofuns in the game are optional burial chambers that hold legendary or sometimes epic chests. You can visit these sites to get great loot and level up your character and stats much quicker. These Kofuns are normally scattered throughout the map of the game, and naturally, the Megalithic Vault follows this example.

Additionally, players won’t struggle to find this particular Kofun. However, reaching the chest in it can prove to be a difficult task. And because of that, in this guide, we will walk you through the Megalithic Vault in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The Megalithic Vault Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

In your Assassin’s Creed Shadows playthrough, you will find the Megalithic Vault in Koriyama, Yamato. More specifically, you will have to go to the northern area of Koriayam to find this Kofun. Normally, you will get the Vault marker on your map, but if somehow you do not, then you can simply go to the location shown above. The Megalithic Vault is not exclusive to one character. However, due to its design, you will need Yasuke to move the crate and enter the Kofun.

How To Find the Legendary Chest in the Megalithic Vault

From this point, it might get difficult to make your way to the chest due to the tricky nature of the interior of the Kofun itself. The first thing you will have to do is take the stairs leading to the Kofun’s gate. Then move the crate forward and enter. To your left, you will find an explosive jar. Blow it up to clear the next path.

Take the newly opened path and then jump into the hole in front of you. After that, you will land on a pond. You can find a chest at the bottom of that pond, but that won’t be the legendary chest you are after. When you are done, get out of the pond and keep walking on the path in front of you. Shortly after, you will come across a crawling area on your right. Make your way to the other side to continue.

Solve the Crate Puzzle To Move Forward

After that, take a left, and you will find yet another crawlspace. You know the drill by now: reach the other side, and then pull the crate on your right side towards yourself. Next, you will have to grab the other crate in the room and drag it out of the way as well. Lastly, grab the small crate and push it forward, then line it up against the rock wall on your left side. If you get confused during this, you can follow the marks on the ground.

Now, climb up the rock wall and keep going forward. Soon, you will come across a wooden bridge that you will have to jump over. After that you will see a large tomb in the middle of a room. Grab the crate that is on the right side of the tomb and drag it towards you to line it up against the left wall. After that, go through the opening on the right to the next room. There you will have to drag another crate towards you and into the new pathway.

Go Up and Grab the Ledge in the Room With the Tomb

Lastly, enter the previous room and drag the first crate towards the wall left of the tomb. Then simply climb up to reach the ledge there and proceed further. At the end of the ledge, climb and grab the wall and move towards the left. There, you will find an open path, so keep walking or running forward. Next, you will see a giant gap between the platform you’re standing on and the next. Don’t worry, because you can easily do some parkour to reach the other side.

In the next room, you will again have to crawl under a wall to reach the area on the other side. From there, keep going, jump over the small hole, and at the end of the road, you will see an explosive jar through a small gap in the wall. Shoot it and make your way back to the room you were in before.

Grab the Items From the Legendary Chest

Once there, go towards the new opening on the south and push the crate forward and out of the way. Then, take the path to your right and go up the stairs to find the legendary chest and complete the Megalithic Vault Kofun in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Rewards for Completing the Megalithic Vault in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Once you have reached the legendary chest in the end, simply open it to get The Elegant Samurai Outfit and complete your exploration of the Megalithic Vault. This legendary armor comes with an engraving that boosts your Posture Attack damage per Adrenaline Chunk filled.

In addition to that, it is possible to use this engraving on different legendary armors. After collecting the loot, grab and move the south crate to make your way out of the Kofun.
