How to Beat Takahashi Taro (the Twisted Tree) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Takahashi Taro is one of the members of the Takahashi family you have to kill in the series of quests – The Twisted Tree. The Twisted Tree is a group of seven people, and you need to kill at least five of them to finish the quest line. Takahashi Taro is one of the five targets that you need to kill to progress the quest.

To start The Twisted Tree quest series, you first need to gather clues in the Inside Help mission. As you slowly gather clues, you gain more information about the members of the corrupt family terrorizing the people of Kyoto. With enough clues, you can get the approximate location of Takahashi Taro or explore this guide to locate him much quicker.

Location of Takahashi Taro in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Takahashi Taro is found in the Asukai Clan Domain, which is north of Furo of Kyoto and northwest of Nijo Palace. Asukai Clan Domain is a heavily armed estate, but Takahashi Taro is in a rather unguarded location. He is found hitting bamboo sticks at the practice grounds, which is on the western side of the estate. You can use Observation to pinpoint Taro’s location and identify him.

If you kill Takahashi Inoshichi before taking out Takahashi Taro, then his location changes completely. To avenge his father, he will appear at his father’s estate along with some other Twisted Tree members who are still alive upon Inoshichi’s death.

How to Beat Takahashi Taro in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Takahashi Taro is one of the easier Twisted Tree targets you can fight among all the other members. He is in a rather quiet location with no guards nearby. The best way to engage Taro is to perch somewhere near and assassinate from above to damage him quite a bit. Taro has a total of five health chunks so assassinating him in one shot is quite difficult without proper skills and gear. 

With his health low, Taro is still a formidable enemy. Takahashi Taro mostly does slash-and-stab attacks, which all can be deflected to make him vulnerable. Additionally, he can block attacks and retaliate with an unstoppable stab attack. The best way to beat him quickly is to bait out attacks and make him vulnerable to dish out large amounts of damage.
