The Burning Glass is a rather crudely put together mechanical equipment that uses the light from a bulb and then amplifies it with a convex lens from a magnifying glass to generate heat. This heat can burn through anything, earning this device its peculiar name. The device comes in handy in plenty of situations, helping you simply light up your way or access new areas.

Unlocking the Burning Glass in Blue Prince requires you to combine two separate devices. You’ll need both electronic elements and a convex lens. The Looking Glass and Metal Detector, therefore, are the perfect picks. The Looking Glass will give you the lens you need, and the Metal Detector will give you the parts required for generating light and heat. Draft and head over to the Workshop level in the game. Go to the table and combine your Looking Glass with the Metal Detector to craft the Burning Glass. 

Once you have the Burning Glass in hand, there’s a lot you can do with it. Below, we’ve listed the various uses of the Burning Glass item in Blue Prince: 

• Use it to light up candles in the various rooms, the tunnels, the Tomb, the Reservoir, the Chapel, and more. Lighting up these candles often reveals secrets, so light one whenever you can. 
• Use the device to light the torches in the tunnel near the Fountain to unlock a new floor plan. 
• You can use the Burning Glass to light the candles inside the Chapel.
• Use the Burning Glass on the Orchard Sundial. 
• You can use the Burning Glass to defrost the freezer and get various rewards. 
• Use the device to light up the dynamite fuse in the Trading Post.
