The sniper, Hailey, is available in Season 1, and we show you how to unlock her for free or with Caliber in The First Descendant!
Hailey is the newest Descendant released in Hotfix 1.1.0, in the First Descendant with the Season 1 Update. She is a former guerilla sniper taking our enemies from range with her anti-material Sniper Cannon. Also, she can decrease her body temperature and infect the field with chill.
How to unlock Hailey for free in The First Descendant
Hailey is unlocked for free by researching four unique parts and 400,000 gold. The unique parts for Hailey are Enhanced Cell, Stabilizer, Spiral Crystal, and Data Chip. Each of these parts has resources required to craft them and then combine them into final research to obtain the character. However, Hailey has a unique material known as DNA that can only be obtained by completing invasion or certain hard infiltration operations.
Players will want to prioritize obtaining DNA materials because they come from Invasion Dungeon with a 100% drop. Invasions event occurred daily in two dungeons, so there were limits when obtaining the material. However, you can complete Hard Mode Infiltrations and get the material from monster drops. To get started, progress through the new main story, unlocking Invasions and Inversion Reinforcement.
Enhanced Cell – Hailey
Below is a list of required materials to research Hailey’s Enhanced Cell in the First Descendant:
- Monad Shard x246
- Compound Coating Material x239
- Polyatomic Ion Particle x96
- Hailey Enhanced Cell Blueprint (DNA) x36
You can find Monad Shard with any difficulty via Kingstone resource or munition box. Compound Coating Material comes from Echo Swap resource or munition box any difficulty. Polyatomic Ion Particles are found in mission monsters in the Fortress on any difficulty. Hailey Enhanced Cell Blueprint (DNA) are obtained via Kingston Hard infiltration operation Magister Lab or Slumber Valley. Hailey’s DNA can also be obtained via the Invasions, a new single-player dungeon.
Stabilizer – Hailey
Below is a list of required materials to research Hailey’s Stabilizer in the First Descendant:
- Nanopolymers x363
- Reverse Charging Coil x455
- Negative Ion Particle x47
- Hailey Stabilizer Blueprint (DNA) x36
Nanopolymers are obtained via Agna Desert resources or munition boxes. Reverse Charging Coil obtained via Fortress resources or munition boxes. Negative Ion Particle Sterlie Land Encrypted Storage box, some require Enzo. Hailey Stabilizer Blueprint (DNA) obtained via Vespers Hard filtration operation the Shelter or The Chapel. Hailey’s DNA can also be obtained via the Invasions, a new single-player dungeon.
Spiral Catalyst – Hailey
Below is a list of required materials to research Hailey’s Catalyst in the First Descendant:
- Repton x422
- Carbon Crystal x554
- Common Carbon Activator x14
- Hailey Spiral Catalyst Blueprint (DNA) x36
Repton is obtained via Kingston resources or munition boxes. Carbon Crystal via Hagios resources or munition boxes. Common Carbon Activator Vespers Hard Sepculcher or the Shelter infiltrations. Hailey Spiral Catalyst Blueprint DNA obtained via Agna Desert Hard Infiltration operation at the Asylum or Caligo Ossuary. Hailey’s DNA can also be obtained via the Invasions, a new single-player dungeon.
Data Chip – Hailey
Below is a list of required materials to research Hailey’s Data Chip in the First Descendant:
- Hailey Data Chips x36
Hailey’s data chip can be obtained via two hard infiltrations or Invasions. Hagios The Haven on hard mode can drop it by killing mission monsters; the same is true for White-Night Gultch Mystery’s End. You’ll need to complete the main story mission to unlock Invasions, then prioritize completing two a day,
How much does it cost to unlock Hailey fast
The fastest way to unlock Hailey in the First Descendant is by spending 900 Caliber in the store. Caliber requires money, and 900 is roughly $18. As of writing this post, there is no way to earn Caliber through gameplay. Therefore, you can unlock Hailey via research or quickly purchase her for Caliber.
Hailey’s Skills in the First Descendant
Based on everything we know, once you unlock Hailey in The First Descendant, she seems like a great ranged damage option that will pair well with utilizing powerful weapons. Unlike Viessa, she seems to want to use weapons in combat instead of just skill spamming. Using her skills to buff her skills and weapons as well as deal massive burst damage from range.
Passive Skill
- Safe Strategic Retreat: The “Weak Point Damage” decreases when attacking nearby enemies, and increases when attacking distant enemies.
Active Skills
- Cyro Rounds – Fires multiple Cryo Rounds at enemies to deal damage and inflict Cryo.
- Enemies inflicted with Cryo receive additional damage from Hailey’s firearm attacks.
- Storm Snare – Knocks back enemies with a Chill Vortex and fires a giant Freezing Beam. Hit enemies are inflicted with Cryo.
- Cold Fury – Grants Cold Fury to herself every second.
- While in the Cold Fury state, her Movement Speed gradually decreases, but her Firearm Penetration and Critical Hit Rate for Firearms and Skills all increase significantly.
- Once Cold Fury reaches maximum stacks, she becomes immune to “Knockdown” and her Firearm and Skill Critical Hit Damage increases.
- Zenith – Equips her Unique Weapon. When attacking with the Unique Weapon, greatly increases Penetration and Firearm ATK and deals additional Chill skill damage. Recovers MP upon attacking Weak Points. When the Unique Weapon skill ends, decreases the Cooldown of the skill depending on the number of bullets.
