In Avowed, you can cast spells to freeze the water, creating a platform to cross. The platform created by freezing the water will help you access the otherwise unreachable locations.
There are certain things that you will need to freeze water in Avowed water. These are:
- A wand.
- The Grimoire (Book containing the spells).
- Enough essence to cast the spell.
Once the requirements are met, players can freeze the water by pointing a wand towards it and casting the magic spell from the Grimoire. The game has different spells to freeze the water into a platform. These spells can differ in level, effect, and essence utilized. The spells are:
- Chill Blades (Level 1 Spell)
- Blast of Frost (Level 8 Spell)
- Freezing Pillar (Level 18 Spell)
Of all the above-mentioned spells, the Chill Blades is the easiest to master as the other spells are difficult to land at the target location. Moreover, Chill Blades utilizes the least essence.
These spells must be cast from the ground, and they will create a temporary platform that will provide access to other platforms, unlock quests, or allow you to cross over to the other side of the water. However, it is important to note that, these platforms last for a brief duration, so timing is crucial to make the most of them. Make sure to return to the ground before the platform disappears.
If you don’t meet the above prerequisites, the game provides an alternate way of freezing water using the Eye of Rymrgard grenade. This grenade creates a temporary platform, allowing you to cross bodies of water without even needing to use spells.
