Discover where you can find the Fell Monstrosity Head in Enshrouded, a necessary resource for strengthening and upgrading your Flame Alter.
How to Get Fell Monstrosity Head in Enshrouded
To get a Fell Monstrosity Head in Enshrouded you will need to have access to the Nomad Highalnds area. Once you have access to the region the best area to find a Fell Monstrosity Head can be found directly northwest of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire. In order to access this region, you will need to Strengthen your Flame Altar to Level 4.
Getting to the Cradle of Dusk location where the Fell Monstrosity is located should be fairly straightforward. You may come to it before reaching the Nomad Highlands spire, but there isn’t a lot of shroud in your way as you head north over land. If you visit the spire first and make your way to the top, it will be very simple to jump off from above and use your glider to head down into this small pocket of shroud just a short distance away heading northwest.
The Cradle of Dusk is also tied to the personal quest you can do for the Alchemist. He will tasks you with finding his Black Cauldron so you can create an Alchemy Station. If you can, try to make sure that you have this quest before heading to the Cradle of Dusk. Then you can collect the Black Cauldron from the Fell Monstrosity Boss the first time you defeat him.
Fighting the Fell Monstrosity Boss
When fighting the Fell Monstrosity Boss, it’s best to attack him from range with a Staff or Bow. However, unlike the melee Fell Thunderbrutes, you’ll need to be on the lookout for his ranged attacks and time your dodges. He’s pretty lumbering and slow moving, but if you’re not careful it can be easy to get caught my his glowing, gooey projectiles.
The Fell Monstrosity Boss has three main attacks:
- Shoot multiple projectiles in a cluster at you.
- He’ll glow blue and ‘charge’ up, then shoot out multiple projectiles. These will land in a spread out arc, not a single spot.
- Shoot projectiles one at a time. Three times in a row, this time turning and following you as you move away.
In generally, keep on the move and be careful you don’t get locked into an attack animation while the projectiles are headed your way. Range attacks and flame spells work well against this boss, just keep moving and chipping away at its HP.
What is a Fell Monstrosity Head, and what is it used for?
A Fell Monstrosity Head is loot you can only get by defeating a Fell Monstrosity boss. Furthermore, the most important thing you will use the Fell Monstrosity Head for is to strengthen the Flame Level of your Alter from 4 to 5. In Early Access a Level 4 Flame will grant you access to the Nomad Highland region. To reach the fifth and final area of the game, called the Kindlewastes, you will need to upgrade your Flame to Level 5. You don’t have to do this right away, but it will eventually be a necessary part of progressing the game.
In order to Strengthen your Flame to Level 5 you will need:
- 20 Mint Mushroom Meat
- 20 Fossilized Bone
- 20 Ammonia Gland
- 20 Tin Ore
- 20 Rooibos
- 1 Fell Monstrosity Head
If you fight the Fell Monstrosity again, you can also use the Head it drops for other things. You can take an extra Fell Monstrosity Head to the Hunter and craft a wall decoration called Fell Monstrosity Trophy. Placing this on a wall in your base or housing will add a +1 of Comfort to any craftsperson sheltering inside.
