This guide explains where to find the Dawnshore Cartographer from the Mapping the Living Lands mission in Avowed.
Avowed is an action RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The game features many side quests that can continue through multiple regions. One of the earlier missions that you can take on is called Mapping the Living Lands. In this quest, you track down cartographers assigned to map various regions of the Living Lands.
In this guide, we have explained how to track down the Dawnshore cartographer in Avowed.
Finding the Dawnshore Cartographer in Avowed
You get to start the Mapping the Living Lands quest very early on in Avowed. As you leave Claviger’s Landing and head north, you will find Sanza near Ivona’s Threshold Party Camp. Here, he explains that a cartographer named Geirmund, assigned to map Dawnshore, has gone missing on the region’s eastern side near a cavern. You won’t receive a marker, but you must use the given clues to find him. This can be tricky to understand at first, so follow this guide.
The eastern side of Paradis is where you have to go. Here, Usher’s Hand is located directly east of the Paradis text on the map screen. Within the quest area, Geirmund’s exact location is at the center, near the God’s Gate fast travel beacon. A large stone column has fallen on Dawnshore Cartographer Geirmund, who lies dead on the ground, crushed due to it. Moreover, the quest item, Geirmund’s Map, is placed right next to his body and must be picked up to progress the Mapping the Living Lands quest in Avowed.
Pick up the map and head back to Sanza in Paradis. Do note that you have to complete the Message from Afar mission to gain access to the city of Paradis. Once inside the city, find Sanza on the northern side in his merchant store and hand in the quest to complete the Dawnshore section of the mission in Avowed.

Rewards for Finding the Cartographer in Avowed
Once you hand over the map to Sanza, he thanks you for helping find the Dawnshore Cartographer’s whereabouts in Avowed. Additionally, he also requests you find the cartographers from the other regions. Lastly, completing the Dawnshore section of the quest rewards you with a modest 78 experience.
