Our Hogwarts Legacy Builds page below lists key selections for spell combination, talents, consumables, and optimal traits. Each individual build has level progression and spell combinations. In June of 2024, Hogwarts will allow for respec or changing talents. Therefore, you can experiment with multiple builds rather than being locked into one specific playstyle.
Below are the best builds in Hogwarts Legacy:
- Ancient Magic – emphasize Ancient Magic special spell casting
- Fire – buffs fire spells and area damage
- Dark Arts – end-game build focusing on Dark Arts
- Herbologist – uses consumables to do damage
- Protego – defensive minded shield build
- Spell Mastery – balanced spell casting build
- Stealth – uses sneaking to do massive damage

Ancient Magic Build Features
The following list presents all the essential Herbologist Build Features and Mechanics in Hogwarts Legacy:
- Preferred House: Ravenclaw
- Spell Combinations: Expelliarmus + Ancient Magic Throw, Levioso + Bombarda & Transformation + Throw

- Key Consumables: Focus Potion, Maxima Potion and Invisibility Potion
- Optimal Armor Traits:1st Unforgiveable III (use I or II if needed), 2nd Cruelty III, 3rd Manipulation III
Herbologist Build Features

- Preferred House: Hufflepuff
- Spell Combinations: Glacius + Diffindo and Levioso + Descendo

- Optimal Armor Traits: 1st Ancient Magic Focus III (use I or II if needed), 2nd Concentration III, 3rd Protego Shielding III
Spell Mastery Build Features
The following list presents all the essential Spell Build Features and Mechanics in Hogwarts Legacy:
- Preferred House: Slytherin
- Spell Combinations: Expelliarmus + Glacius + Diffindo and Levioso + Descendo
- Important Talents: Glacius Mastery, Diffindo Mastery, Spell Knowledge I, Spell Knowledge II, Spell Knowledge III, Basic Cast Mastery, Maxima Potion Potency, Disarming Cursenote: curses/dark arts talents do not make you evil in the game. Drop Disarming Curse if your character’s design prohibits it, it will not destroy the build.
- Key Consumables: Maxima Potion, Focus Potion and Invisibility Potion
- Optimal Armor Traits: 1st Laceration III (use I or II if needed), 2nd Concentration III, 3rd Disarming III

- Important Talents: Sense of Secrecy I & Sense of Secrecy II, Human Demiguise, Petrificus Totalus Mastery, Invisibility Potion Potency, Bombarda Mastery
- Key Consumables: Invisibility Potion, Edurus Potion Potency, Maxima Potion
- Optimal Armor Traits: 1st Binding III (use I or II if needed), 2nd Ambush III, 3rd Explosive III
