BG3 Entering Grymforge

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a highly acclaimed CRPG from the renowned developer Larian Studios. Released in the summer of 2023 on all major platforms, it features an engaging storyline, memorable companions, and tactical turn-based combat. Additionally, there are many pieces of unique armour, weapons, accessories, and other items to find as you explore the world of Faerun. Some of these items require conquering difficult boss fights, solving intricate puzzles, or looting treasure chests.

There are two types of accessories in Baldur’s Gate 3: necklaces or amulets and rings. In this guide, we will list down all the rings available in Baldur’s Gate 3 along with their effects including passives and other benefits.

Rings Overview in BG3

Rings are accessory items in Baldur’s Gate 3 that you can equip to your character and allies in the party. Similar to the Amulets, Rings also come in various rarities providing passives, additional spells, and bonuses for certain skills. Players can equip any two rings at a time and one amulet to attain the benefits from their effects. However, all the accessory items (Amulets and Rings) of Common rarity do not have any effects. You will get them often in your playthrough during exploration. It is best to sell them or barter them to get essential items from vendors.

Now, for the high-rarity Rings including Uncommon to Very Rare, they offer unique effects. Each ring will offer some sort of bonus that you can utilize to get an edge in a certain scenario. Moreover, various Rings like Killer’s Sweetheart and Crypt Lord can help you greatly in Combat. Choosing a set of Rings for your character and your allies will help you shape the flow of your adventure. So, if you are having a bit hard time during combat or exploration, acquire the Rings that grant benefits for such endeavors.

What is the purpose of Rings in BG3?

The main purpose of Rings and even Amulets is to provide additional benefits to your character and the group for a better adventure. Even though numerous weapons and armour pieces provide their own benefits, having some additional benefits from Rings and Amulets will make the journey easier. Moreover, Rings complete the process of shaping an essential build for your character. As creating builds helps you get past the toughest of challenges, the last tweaks that your character needs can be fulfilled with the Rings.

1. Caustic Band

Baldur’s Gate 3 Caustic Band - BG3

In Baldur’s Gate 3, The Caustic Band provides the Malefic Excretion bonus that adds 2 Acid damage to the wearer’s weapon base damage. This uncommon ring is a decent choice for any class or companion if you are looking for something to fill the empty ring slot for one of your characters. It’s additional damage is low, but it’s always nice to have it. You can equip it to your character’s ring slot in the inventory, providing additional bonuses and buffs. There are no requirements for this item. You can equip it on any class, companion, or character.

2. Crusher’s Ring

Baldur's Gate 3 Crusher's Ring

In Baldur’s Gate 3, The Crushers Ring grants the wearer extra movement speed +3, a big bonus for every class and character. Wood Elf race has a similar bonus that increases their movement speed by 1.5 m, and this ring doubles this value. It’s perfect for any class that requires mobility on the battlefield, such as melee characters and fightersbarbarianpaladin, or rogue. You can equip it in your character’s ring slot in the inventory, gaining additional bonuses and buffs. No specific requirements limit its use; it can be equipped by characters of any class or companions in your party.

3. Ring of Regeneration

BG3 Ring of Regeneration - Baldur's Gate 3

In Baldur’s Gate 3, The Ring of Regeneration provides extra healing at the beginning of every turn. The number of regained hit points is small, but it’s a reliable healing you can get every turn on your character. The ring will be a good addition to every class, whoever needs it at your party, but it will probably work best on melee characters, such as Paladin, Barbarian, or Fighter. The Ring of Regeneration bonus is called Combat Regeneration, and this jewelry item is cheap and definitely worth grabbing.

You can equip it to your character’s ring slot in the inventory, providing additional bonuses and buffs. There are no requirements for this item. You can equip it on any class, companion, or character.

4. Ring of Flinging

In Baldur’s Gate 3 the Ring of Flinging appears to be specially made for the Barbarian class. It’s main bonus feature is Throwing Boost. This perk grants the wearer an additional 1d4 to throw damage. The great thing about this ring is that the bonus doesn’t just apply to only certain types of thrown objects. Whether your Barbarian picks up weapons, items, or unfortunate enemies, anything you toss at another combatant will incur the extra damage. This is a perfect gear piece for a Throw build in BG3!

5. Ring of Protection

Baldur's Gate 3 Ring of Protection

The Ring of Protection is a strong accessory piece that will grant any character or class additional survivability. While the ring does not have any ‘named’ bonuses, it will give the wearer a +1 to both Armour Class and to Saving Throws. The second bonuses is especially beneficial, given that the +1 is not limited to a certain ability-based Saving Throw, but to all types.

This ring would be highly useful for any class. For spellcasters such as Sorcerers and Wizards, classes which tend to wear cloth robes, this ring would provide a nice boost to their armor class while not negatively influencing their ability to cast spells. Additionally, frontline damage dealers and tanky classes, such as BarbariansFighters and Paladins, would also benefit from this ring, given that they are mostly likely be to under attack during combat.

6. Shapeshifter’s Boon Ring

Baldur's Gate 3 Shapeshifter's Boon Ring BG3

In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Shapeshifter’s Boon Ring is a great accessory for Druids using Wild Shape, or other stealthy characters who like to mask themselves. The main perk on this ring is called Shapeshifter’s Boon. This will give the wearer a +1d4 bonus to all Ability checks while they are shapeshifted or wearing a disguise.

Therefore, this means that it is one of the few pieces of gear that can be used by Druids while in one of their Wild Shape forms. Additionally, it should apply to any character that casts the Disguise Self spell on themselves.

Moreover, you can get the bonus from this ring and then switch it out for another after transforming. First, make sure you have the Shapeshifter’s Boon Ring on before transforming. Then, as you transform, you’ll receive a condition from the ring called Mark of the Shifter. Once this is applied, it will last until your next Long Rest. Consequently, you can switch the ring out for something else until you rest and need to apply the condition again.

7. Strange Conduit Ring

BG3 Strange Conduit Ring

In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Strange Conduit Ring is an uncommon ring that can be looted from an elegant chest inside the Inqusitor’s Chambers of the Crèche Y’llek in Act 1.  This ring offers increased 1-4 Psychic damage while concentrating. This ring is perfect for the Ranger or any character using weapon attacks with the Hunter’s Mark ability. Hunter’s Mark spell can be obtained through two Act 1 items as well, Grymskull helmet and Hunter’s shortbow.

8. The Whispering Promise

The Whispering Promise - Baldur's Gate 3
The Whispering Promise

In Baldur’s Gate 3, The Whispering Promise provides extra bonus to attack rolls and saving throws for 2 turns, each time the person wearing the ring heals another creature. You can equip it to your character’s ring slot in the inventory and it will provide additional bonuses and buffs. There are no requirements for this item. You can equip it on any class, companion, or character.
