At the beginning of Act 1, head northwest past the Risen Road and west of Waukeen’s Rest, and enter the Mountain Pass. Next, travel northeast to reach the Githyanki Crèche Y’llek.

From this location, you must head north into the Inquistitor’s Chambers. Next, you will need to either convince or kill Kith’rak Therezzyn, the commander guarding the entrance to the inquisitor’s chamber. She will have or hand over a Githyanki Barrier Disruptor which you can insert into the wall allowing access to the chamber.

Defeating Inquisitor Ch’r’ai W’wargaz

BG3 Inquisitor Ch'r'ai W'wargaz

The simplest way to defeat Inquisitor Ch’r’ai W’wargaz is to become invisible and eliminate his allies outside the center of the chambers. On Honour Mode difficulty, he spawns two swords that do damage and land on top of whoever attacks first and second. Additionally, he cannot be surprised, so it is easier to eliminate the additional enemies who can be surprised from invisibility (not stealth). This triggers a surprise status effect on them, causing them to skip their first turn.

Once you defeat the enemies on the outside focus all of your attention on Inquisitor W’wargaz. If you have the Command/Drop spell, cast it to dislodge his weapon. The Fighter and Disarming Attack can do this as well, which reduces his damage to almost nothing. Next, on turn two he will mind linking everyone. This essentially raises his AC very high making it hard to hit him. Thus, spells like Blessed or turning off feats like Sharpshooter and Great Weapon Master are critical to landing an attack. Acid damage also helps keep his AC lower. Continue to stun and pressure him, and hopefully, without a weapon, he will be harmless. Disregard the swords, they despawn when he dies.

How to Use Strange Conduit Ring

BG3 Hunter's Mark Spell
Strange Conduit Ring - BG3

The best way to use the Strange Conduit Ring is with Hunter’s Mark divination spell. Hunter’s Mark gives 1d6 Bludgeoning damage and requires concentration. This damage stacks with the 1d4 psychic from the ring, giving you a possible 2-10 extra damage per attack. On a class like the Ranger, with Extra Attack, you can attack multiple times per action radically increasing your damage per turn. While this ring looks mediocre, it’s far from it and one of the best rings in Act 1.
