Beyond is a treacherous and menacing place filled with monsters and looked over by the Gods themselves. As players venture into Beyond through the Eternal Gate, they will face all sorts of threats. Various kinds of monsters, Elite enemies, and a God at the end of every World. There are three different types of Worlds in Beyond and each one has a respective God at the end. Fighting and defeating the Gods is essential to make progress in 33 Immortals. However, defeating them might require you to get essential upgrades in each run. The upgrades for your character enhance their characteristics, making them more powerful. In this guide, we will tell you the best upgrades to acquire from the Dust Altars or Shrines in 33 Immortals.
Dust Altars in 33 Immortals – Explained
The world of Beyond includes various Altars and Shrines in every stage. It includes the Bone Altar, Soul Altar, and Dust Altar. Each Altar is unique and offers various passives, upgrades, and items for the current run. The Dust Altar or Shrine is probably the most crucial one as it offers three different upgrades. Players can get these upgrades to increase certain characteristics of the character.
The Dust Altar is easy to recognize and find. It has a purple vial shape, making it unique from other altars on the map. Interacting with the Dust Altar will allow players to get upgrades for Attack, Vitality, and Empathy. All these are the main characteristics of your immortal character. For each different upgrade, the Dust Altar will increase the respective stat by +3. For instance, if you want more attack power, it will increase it by +3. If you have 1 Attack Power before, you will have 4 after the upgrade.
Now, to upgrade at the Dust Altar/Shrine, you will need 1 full Dust Vial. You can see the Dust Vial in the bottom right corner of the screen of UI. Every enemy that you defeat in the Beyond will drop Dust. So, as you begin in the Beyond, clear out as many enemies as you can to fill up the Dust Vial.
NOTE: You can only get the upgrade once at a Dust Altar/Shrine. If you want to upgrade the Attack or any other stat further, you will have to find a new Dust Altar/Shrine.
There are around 5 Dust Altars/Shrines in every World. So, if you grind enough and explore the map, you will be able to get each upgrade five times.

3. Empathy

The strongest element of Empathy is the Co-op abilities. Every weapon in the game has a special Co-op ability. Players can initiate the co-op ability by charging the co-op ability on the bottom left corner of the screen. Once charged, Press the RT button to initiate the co-op ability where two other players will join you to launch the ability.
There is no doubt that the co-op abilities are devastating to use in crucial fights like Torture Chambers and Ascension Battles. The other elements of Empathy include reviving teammates quickly and increasing the overall health after being revived. If any one of your teammates dies during the run, you can resurrect them by interacting with the white lingering soul before the time runs out for them. Having more Empathy will allow you to resurrect them more quickly than usual.
Having more Empathy will allow you to have more HP when you get revived after the initial death in your run. Usually, the amount of HP that you can have after death is 25% of the maximum HP. You cannot go over this limit unless one of your teammates mends the health of your character at the Soul Shrine.
To put it briefly, if you want to enhance cooperative actions, then the Empathy stat is for you.
2. Vitality
As the name suggests, the Vitality upgrade increases the maximum Health of the character. It is essential to have more HP for your run as it enhances overall survivability. Whether you are in a party or Solo, increasing Vitality for a couple of times in a run will help you greatly. You will be able to take more damage before you fall to the death. Going further in the run is essential as it rewards you with more rewards.
So, as you begin each run, clear out as many enemies as you can to fill the Dust Vial, and spend it at the Dust Altar to get the Vitality upgrade. In addition to this, make sure that you also complete objectives for the Feat. It grants you various permanent enhancements, including Vitality.
1. Attack
The final and the best upgrade to get for the character is the Attack. As the name suggests, it increases the overall damage of the weapon. The reason why it is the best upgrade to get at the Dust Altar is that it is the only way you can increase the overall output damage. Your every base and charged attack will deal relatively more damage than usual. Clearing out the enemies in Beyond quickly will give you more freedom to explore and gather more resources. There is no enemy in Beyond that will go down in an instant with low Attack power. It will take you several hits to defeat only a single regular enemy. So, enhancing the Attack is super crucial.
