Monster Hunter Wilds released on February 28, 2025, and the player count saw a large number of hunters dive into it.

The Monster Hunter Wilds concurrent player count on Steam is currently at 1,238,138 (at the time of writing, according to SteamDB). The game was released on February 28, 2025, and is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. While we don’t have the player count data from the consoles, the PC numbers indicate a massive launch for Capcom’s latest title.

With a 1.2M concurrent player count on Steam, Monster Hunter Wilds debuted as one of the biggest launches of 2025. The game has been dominating the wishlist and the top-selling lists across all the platforms it is available on. With the weekend coming on, the numbers are surely going to soar further.
For comparison, Monster Hunter World has an all-time concurrent player peak on Steam of 334,648, with MH Rise posting 231,360. If World is considered to be the first game that piqued the mainstream interest in the iconic series, Wilds is a worthy successor that is building on the success.
The Monster Hunter Wilds’ release hasn’t been without hiccups, though. PC users have been complaining of a variety of errors and optimization issues that are plaguing them. The issues we are currently aware of are as follows:

The upcoming roadmap has also been revealed, with the Title Update 1 arriving in early April. It will see the debut of Mizutsune and the Gathering Hub in-game.
