Monster Hunter Wilds features a vast array of hunting locales that together form the game’s open-world map. Each location has its diverse ecosystem and is home to different monsters and settlements. Adding to the challenge, every location has its own unique weather patterns. This can influence hunts and create new obstacles for you to overcome. These elements work together to enhance immersion, making the world feel more alive and unpredictable.

In this guide, we’ll list all the locations and regions in the Monster Hunter Wilds beta, along with the monsters you can encounter for each area.

Windward Plains

The first area you unlock is the Windward Plains. This area features sandy deserts, grasslands, and giant rock formations, and is brimming with wildlife.

Venturing further into the Windward Plains, you will find the Kunafa, Windsong Village. This settlement is also the home of the Seikret, one of the mountable creatures in the game.

Scarlet Forest

The river found in the Windward Plains leads to the Scarlet Forest. The name is taken from its crimson-red flora and the flowing water in the river. Torrential rainstorms are common in this area.

Deep within the forest lies the Wudwud Hideout. This area is home to a Lynian tribe called the Wudwuds.

Oilwell Basin

The Oilwell Basin features a unique landscape, with oil seeping from the ground. This creates hazardous pools that are highly flammable. This area has an inclemency known as the Firespring where certain areas spontaneously ignite, creating additional dangers for hunters.

The unique properties of the region led to the formation of the village of Azuz. The place is home to skilled craftsmen who possess knowledge of ancient techniques passed down through generations.

Iceshard Cliffs

A frozen landscape that is constantly swept with snowy blizzards. Not much is known about this region yet. More information might surface once Monster Hunter Wilds gets a full release this February 28, 2025.
