Want to cause a lot of damage? Here are the 5 best spells in the Destruction school for Oblivion Remastered.

In Oblivion, magic exists in six core types. These six types are Alteration, Conjuration, Mysticism, Illusion, Restoration and Destruction. All of the spells within the game exist within one of these types of magic.

The Destruction School in Oblivion Remastered

The Destruction type of magic is the most combat-oriented, as it involves the use of destructive spells to harm your opponents. Although making custom spells is likely the most effective use of magic, the pre-existing spells also have their uses.
All of these spells are extremely useful in combat, one way or another.

Weakness to Magicka

This spell inflicts a weakness to Magicka and reduces the enemy’s resistance to Magicka by 25% for 30 seconds. This weakness causes the enemy to take extra damage from all magical attacks.
Although 25% may not seem like a lot (and a custom spell could certainly do more), it can add up very quickly. The extra damage this spell enables for all magic makes it highly useful indeed.
Searing Blast

Searing Blast deals 20 points of Fire damage every second for 6 seconds to any target hit. This adds up to 120 damage overall. In general, spells that inflict damage over time are better, as they cost less Magicka (at least at a lower level, since you will have a lesser Magicka pool). Thus, this spell becomes one of the most viable ways of dealing fire damage to your opponents.
Superior Magicka Drain
This spell temporarily reduces the target’s Magicka by 100 points for 30 seconds. It can prove particularly useful against enemies who primarily rely on magic as it can significantly limit their arsenal.
Once an enemy does not have the Magicka required to cast spells, you can safely attack them from a distance that they cannot close.
Disintegrate Weapon

Disintegrate Weapon deals 150 points of damage to the target’s weapon. As you can probably tell, destroying an enemy’s weapon is a major blow indeed. And this spell is the best way to disarm your enemy in the game.
Successfully destroying your enemy’s weapon puts you at a massive advantage and practically assures your victory in battle. Note that this spell is not quite as useful against enemies who do not have weapons.
Freezing Blast

This spell is the chilling counterpart to Searing Blast. Just like its partner, this spell deals 20 points of ice damage every second for 6 seconds. Ice as a damage type proves resistant to more enemies than other types. However, when they don’t resist ice, the ability truly shines.
Ice spells are capable of inflicting frost on an enemy. And once an enemy is frozen, you can keep them that way indefinitely. This trivializes most battles in the game and lets you win seamlessly.
