Over the years, Rockstar Games’ flagship title Grand Theft Auto evolved from being a single-player-focused experience to a fully open-world adventure. GTA 5 Online, despite its flaws, is loved by fans all over the globe. From multiplayer heists and missions to PvP mechanics, this title proves how fun and chaotic the game can be when playing with friends.

When the teaser trailer for GTA 6 dropped, fans were quick to open up discussions about what improvements or new content it would have. Improved graphics are expected, but many want to know about the new gameplay mechanics. While GTA 6 Online has not been confirmed yet, there is a good chance that it will follow on the heels of GTA 6. So, what all improvements do we want to see in the sequel to GTA 5 Online?

1. Massive Selection of Vehicles and Customization

You can’t have a new game in the GTA franchise without a massive pool of vehicles. Rockstar should perhaps add an even larger selection of customizable vehicles for players to collect. Additionally, the customization options should be expanded. Instead of a linear upgrade system, players can benefit from more options to tweak their vehicle. Furthermore, Rockstar should not remove the option to test-drive vehicles in the game before purchasing them.

2. Add More Building Interiors

Don’t Lose the Building Interiors

A key aspect that adds to the immersion of open-world games like GTA 5 Online are building interiors. While there aren’t many in the current title, it would be nice to have more accessible interior areas in a potential GTA 6 Online – shops, restaurants, hotels, inns, or even just random areas for players to hang out with. Players will feel happy exploring the world, finding places to share with their friends.

3. Fun Little Minigames or Game Modes

Beyond heists and missions, GTA 5 Online offers alternative game modes that provide a break from the grind. GTA 6 Online can perhaps expand upon this by adding more game modes or even just fun little minigames that groups of friends can interact with. Whether it’s a simple night of bowling with friends, or a fully-fledged cops-and-robbers mode, giving players fun distractions will help keep the experience engaging.

You really can’t expect players to infinitely grind another Cayo Perico Heist-type of job in GTA 6 Online. While it is the most lucrative mission to complete in GTA 5 Online, it basically made most of the other missions obsolete and not worth doing. Rockstar Games should think about how to make each mission unique and engaging instead of just adding a new one that makes the previously released ones less viable to play.

4. Multiple Characters Per Account

There are only two character slots per account in GTA Online. The slots can’t be expanded so you will need to delete a character if you want to make a new one.

Rockstar Games can improve this feature in GTA 6 Online, allowing for additional character slots. This will allow players to fully immerse themselves as they have more roleplaying options. Additionally, some players simply want to keep the grind going. If they have more alternate characters, you will give them more replayability options.

5. Gang Wars

Gangs have always been a major theme in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, but GTA 5 Online never fully capitalized on the concept of large-scale gang warfare. The feature exists in there but it’s just a simple shootout that doesn’t make too much of an impact.

GTA 6 Online can introduce gang wars as an integral feature, allowing players to side with factions and compete for control in public sessions. To make things even more interesting, the winning faction in a gang war could receive in-game bonuses, such as increased payouts for missions, discounts on weapons, or unique rewards. This will add more to the PvP aspect of the game instead of just people griefing each other.
