To summarize it all, here are five major talk points from the Monter Hunter Wilds community update livestream video.

Performance Enhancements for PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and PC

One of the main talk points in the Hunter Wilds community update livestream was the addition of a feature that allows players to prioritize graphics or framerate on consoles. The goal of the developers is to improve the performance of the game as much as possible without compromising too much on the graphics to provide the best gameplay experience.
Here are more details about the Prioritize Framerate or Graphics mode:
Framerate Mode
Platform | Output Resolution | Rendering Resolution | Frame Rate |
PlayStation 5 | 3840 x 1260 | 1920 x 1080 | 60fps |
Xbox Series X | 3840 x 1260 | 1920 x 1080 | 60fps |
Graphics Mode
Platform | Output Resolution | Rendering Resolution | Frame Rate |
PlayStation 5 | 3840 x 1260 | 3072 x 1728 | 30fps |
Xbox Series X | 3840 x 1260 | 3072 x 1728 | 30fps |
Others
Platform | Output Resolution | Rendering Resolution | Frame Rate |
Xbox Series S | 1920 x 1080 | 1920 x 1080 | 30fps |
Unfortunately, Capcom did not provide any details regarding the customization for PS5 Pro. However, the developers did confirm that it will also have its own customization options soon.
For PC or Steam players, the customization option will vary depending on your hardware. In the Hunter Wilds community update video, the developers also shared how they are looking to implement more customization options. As part of the initiative, a PC benchmark tool is also planned to be released to help players determine to test if their setup can run the game.
Reduced Friendly Fire

Another major talking point that was discussed during the Community Update was regarding Friendly Fire. In Monster Hunter games, Friendly Fire is something that bears a lot of significance, especially in older titles. For the uninitiated, Friendly Fire in Monster Hunter alludes to the act of interrupting a co-op partner’s combo either by hitting with a weapon’s charged attacks or performing certain combos. For instance, the Hammer’s Level-3 charged attack is capable of sending other players flying if they come in contact with it. While Friendly Fire is mostly harmless, it does often lend itself to criticism, especially in the recent Monster Hunter titles, i.e., World and Rise. In Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Friendly Fire often ends up making co-op with random players a nuisance against monsters like Fatalis, Alatreon, or even Barioth.
As such, with the intent of making Monster Hunter Wilds a more welcoming experience for newcomers, Capcom has made changes to Friendly Fire. Although Friendly Fire will still be a thing in Wilds, its impact, especially for the Hammer’s upswing, is reduced substantially. Furthermore, Wilds will also feature the Shockproof Jewel (also present in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak), which nullifies any effects of Friendly Fire.
Monster Area Movement
To make the hunt more challenging, the developers will also adjust the frequency of monster area movement. This means, your targets are more likely to move to different areas instead of staying in one location.
Additionally, players will also be able to use Pop-up Camps and fast travel in the full version of the game.
New Multiplayer Features

One of the major talk points discussed in the Monster Hunter Wilds community update video is the new Multiplayer features to be added to the game. Taking feedback from players, the developers plan to add new options like private lobbies and the return of the squad system. This way, players will have more options if they wish to only play with specific players. The multiplayer options will be made available once the game gets a final release.
Possibly Another Open Beta Test
Players who missed the previous open beta test of Monster Hunter Wilds should keep an eye out, as the developers are considering hosting another beta. However, the decision is still pending as they plan to introduce a few new features. Notably, these additions will not include the adjustments highlighted in the recent community update live stream.
