Elden Ring Nightreign is an upcoming co-op Souls game, and this article will take a look at five notable things you need to know.
Elden Ring Nightreign is a three-player online co-op game where players have to survive two days and two nights to fight the main boss of the game. Each day players collect weapons and other items, and when the night comes, they have to fight the boss to enter the next day. Nightreign just launched its network test. It gives a glimpse of the game and how most of the things are done. The game has introduced many new mechanics mixed with the classic Elden Ring style.
In this article, we are going to talk about five things you need to know about Elden Ring Nightreign.
1) No Fall Damage
The one thing that scared most of the Souls fans was dying when jumping from a certain height. Elden Ring Nightreign has no fall damage because the pace of the game is usually faster than its predecessor. There is a storm engulfing the map, so players need to be faster when it comes to clearing camps and bosses. To make the traversal and movement fluid, the developer decided to remove the fall damage from the game.
2) Weapons
Players can choose any weapon they want; however, they need to reach the respective levels to unlock them. There are a lot of weapons imported from Elden Ring and other Souls games. Each weapon has its own move set, and players can upgrade them by getting upgrades from bosses and camps. Moreover, players can have the attributes of a weapon even when it’s not equipped. They just have to place the weapon in the inventory to gain benefits from its buffs.

3) Bosses
FromSoftware games are known for their level designs and bosses, and Elden Ring Nightreign brings bosses from every Souls game. Players can find them as side bosses scattered throughout the land. Moreover, some famous bosses might invade players at any time, even when they are clearing a camp or dungeon. There are eight main bosses in the game, each designed specially to tackle multiple players at once.
4) Stat Upgrades
Just like in Elden Ring, players can choose a class they want. However, each class in Elden Ring Nightreign has fixed stats, and players cannot custom upgrade them. Every time they level up, a set of stats is going to level up automatically. This mechanic can upset some players, but it can help in maintaining a balance between the team. A tank is supposed to be strong and defensive, so each time a tank upgrades stats at a grace, it will receive an upgrade that includes health and defense.
5) Classes
There are currently four classes in Elden Ring Nightreign during the network test. The developer has stated that there will be eight classes when the game is released. Each class has its specific role in a team. Moreover, each one of them has unique ultimate abilities. Here’s a quick description of all the available classes in the game:
- Wylder: This is an all-rounder class that excels in attack and speed.
- Guardian: Basically a tank made to play defensive and support the team.
- Duchess: A quick attack with fast evasive skills.
- Recluse: A magic user who can buff and heal teammates.
