Check out some must-have gameplay features that every GTA 6 fan has added to their wishlist as the much-hyped game prepares to launch in 2025.
GTA 6 is probably the most-hyped AAA game at the moment, and it’s expected to be released in less than a year (Fall 2025). Now, after waiting for over a decade, fans naturally have long wishlists of things they want to see in the upcoming game. We’re expecting the new Grand Theft Auto title to revolutionize the series with all-new gameplay features that have never been seen before in the franchise.
In addition, we would also like to see some highly demanded-features that never made it to any of the past titles. In light of that, this article lists six gameplay features that GTA 6 deserves to have in order to impress its fanbase.

Essential Gameplay Features We Want To See in GTA 6
1. More Accessible Interiors
The lack of interiors in Grand Theft Auto 5 often makes the map feel empty and lifeless. You can’t get into restaurants anymore like in Grand Theft Auto 4, and there aren’t any random apartments to explore. Even some of the mission locations, like the Lifeinvader HQ, are inaccessible once you progress through the story.
There are rumors that Rockstar might be making use of procedural generation to create innumerable enterable buildings in GTA 6. While this can’t be confirmed until they officially unveil the feature, it sounds pretty impressive. Even San Andreas allowed you to enter multiple houses (during the Robbery missions), although the interiors were often repeated.
Making this feature work in a seamless open world can be taxing, especially on consoles, but it would certainly help with immersion.
2. Enhanced Vehicular Customization
Vehicular customization has progressed pretty far in the Grand Theft Auto series with GTA 5 and its multiplayer mode. You can apply different vinyls, customize different body parts, add accessories, improve specifications, and so on. The natural step forward would be to enhance this further in GTA 6, with more body mods, new types of paint jobs, and allowing more vehicles to be modified.
What would make this even cooler is if there was a way to make custom vinyls, like in so many racing games. This would also allow for community creation in multiplayer mode, where players could showcase their creative talents.
3. Advanced Weapons Modification
After vehicles, it’s the weapons that deserve more emphasis in GTA 6. One major gameplay improvement would be if Rockstar were to make gun modification much more extensive in the new game. While Grand Theft Auto 5 has some amount of gun customization, it’s not nearly as impressive as those of tactical shooters. It’s not nearly as aesthetic as that of Red Dead Redemption 2 either.
Players should be able to modify a lot more about their weapons in Grand Theft Auto 6. This includes modifying the barrels, choosing between countless different attachments (suppressors, NVG, IR lasers, optics, grips), and even getting to adjust the mounts.
4. Realistic Weapons System
What this means is that weapon ballistics should have more of an impact during gunfights. Far too many games nowadays have bullet-sponge enemies and nerfed weapons that feel more like toys than actual firearms. GTA 6 should strive to make weapons feel more impactful, with realistic damage, recoil, and bullet drop.
On top of that, there should be a limit to how much ammo and how many weapons you can carry. Every GTA game to date lets you carry an entire arsenal on your person, and you can just swap between multiple weapons on the fly. With the next title, Rockstar should make it more like RDR2, in that you have to physically carry the guns you want and make use of bags and vehicles to carry additional firearms.
5. Simulation Driving
This could be made optional, but GTA 6 deserves to have better vehicular handling in general. Rockstar should also add the option to have a manual transmission to make the driving more sim-like. While not everybody may enjoy this, it’s something that a large portion of the fanbase enjoys. Grand Theft Auto 4 was the last game in the series to have a somewhat realistic and challenging driving system.
The Mafia series, often considered a GTA rival, is also known for its impressive vehicular handling. As a result, driving fast is much more rewarding in these games, and it forces you to put some thought into controlling your vehicle.
6. Reactive Game World
What this means is that the open-world map of GTA 6 should reflect the player’s actions more consistently. A good example here is Mafia 2, where, if you shoot up a store, the police will physically arrive to investigate, and then put up tapes. The affected store remains closed for a while before it can go back to business. The Godfather game had a similar mechanic, but the store owner was completely replaced.
Grand Theft Auto 6 should have this mechanic so that your actions properly affect the game world. This could also be extended to NPCs, who will remember you and react accordingly. Additionally, the police system also needs a desperate revamp in the next game to make it more believable. They shouldn’t just shoot you on sight but behave more cautiously, like in GTA 4.
