The Naruto series is full of intense fights, emotional moments, and amazing character arcs. In all of these, we get glimpses of comedy which keeps it lighthearted. From their naivety to slapstick comedy, the animanga series has it all. Fans appreciate the comedy despite years after the series’ conclusion.

From kids to adults, everyone can enjoy the show. A key appeal is that each Naruto character has a unique personality. While children may miss the gags the way adults do, the vibrant visuals, lively music, and distinct character personalities more than make up for it, ensuring plenty of laughter. Even during as serious as the Fourth Great Ninja War, the series finds ways to slip in humor without disrupting the tension.

In this ranking, we’ll take a look at eight characters who kept us laughing throughout the series. Some are naturally funny, while others surprise us with unexpected comedic moments. From dry sarcasm to over-the-top antics, these characters brought a unique brand of humor that made Naruto even more entertaining. Let’s dive in and see who takes the position as the funniest character in the series.

8) Kakashi

Usually, he is shown as a nonchalant mentor for team seven, who does not go easy on kids. Even during the first test for team 7(Bell test), Kakashi took out his Make-Out Paradise (Icha Icha Paradise). Kakashi’s indifference and lack of struggle make this scene funny. And how could we forget his legendary thousand years of death which sent Naruto flying.

Also, his relationship with Guy Sensei is hilarious. A noteworthy scene is when they are playing rock, paper, and scissors, they look like they are dancing. And being grown up, they still are competitive like kids.

Kakashi’s sharp one-liners, biting sarcasm, and wit, combined with the contrast between his serious demeanor and unexpected goofy tendencies, catch viewers off guard, creating unforgettable comedic moments.

7) Konohamaru

Konohamaru starts as a troublemaker kid who idolizes Naruto and has learned Sexy Jutsu. He wants to be like Naruto and is a small kid with an explosive energy. He is funny because he hypes himself up and riles people around. But he is easily thwarted or neutralized.

Even during the time, he was serious about perfecting the Sexy Jutsu technique, he came up with his version named Sexy Jutsu: Reverse Harem Technique of Sai and Sasuke together (only in Manga, not shown in anime) and showed off to Naruto, which left everyone around him speechless. Later on, Naruto called him a genius.

Konohamarus’s humor is reflected in his childishness and his over-the-top behavior. And how as a kid he still acts a little pervy. His interactions with Naruto just add to the humor.

6) Naruto

Even during a battle, he could be serious, but mostly he is not. Naruto is an unpredictable character who is not afraid to make a fool of himself. Two notable scenes that always stay in our memory are when Naruto uses his Sexy Jutsu for the first time in front of Iruka sensei, this Jutsu became such a core part of him that he even used the Reversed Harem version of it to beat Kaguya. The other scene is when he kisses Sasuke by mistake, making it the first kiss of his life.

Most of his reactions are over the top. From Naruto being flustered over Sakura and just losing himself to ramen. Also, his constant rivalry and bickering towards Sasuke keep his humor refreshing.

5) Jiraiya

Jiraya’s humor comes from his shameless perversion, dramatic personality, and tendency to get into ridiculous situations. Known as the “Pervy Sage,” he was also the infamous author of Make-Out Paradise (Icha Icha Paradise)

Beyond his antics, Jiraiya’s dramatic personality makes him funnier. He constantly hypes himself up as a legendary ninja, but then immediately does something embarrassing, like getting rejected by a woman or losing money gambling. Jiraiya’s combination of perversion, overconfidence, and bad luck make him one of Naruto’s funniest characters. His antics never get old.

4) Killer Bee

Killer Bee is one of Naruto’s most unexpectedly funny characters. At first, he seems like just another powerful ninja, but the second he starts vocalizing his thoughts in the form of rap, we as the audience just cannot stop laughing. His rhyming obsession leads to some of the best humor in the series.

One of his funniest moments is when Killer Bee is focused on writing his rap and completely ignoring Sasuke who is trying to intimidate him. His overconfidence and playful attitude make him impossible to take seriously.

He is different from other characters. Despite being a strong character, he dedicates his life to rap. It is unexpected to see this quality in Ninja. Before Tobi is revealed as Obito, he’s one of the funniest characters in the series. His playful, clueless personality makes him a complete contrast to the other serious Akatsuki members.

3) Tobi (Masked Obito)

His funniest moments often involve annoying Deidara. Whether he’s pretending to be scared, making bad jokes, or running around in circles, he constantly frustrates his partner. His childlike antics, like playing dead in battle, add to his comedic appeal.

The fact that this goofy character later turns out to be one of the biggest villains in the series makes his early moments even funnier.

2) Rock Lee

Rock Lee’s humor comes from his extreme seriousness about ridiculous things. His dedication to training, paired with his exaggerated emotions, makes every scene with him hilarious.

One of his best moments is when he fights drunk against Kimimaro. Watching his usual polite, disciplined self turn into a wild, unpredictable fighter is pure comedy. His interactions with Guy Sensei, where they dramatically cry and pose together, are also some of the funniest moments in the series.

Lee’s humor works because he takes everything to the extreme. Whether it’s training, love, or rivalry, his 100% intensity makes every moment entertaining.

1) Might Guy

Might Guy is hands down the funniest character in Naruto. His over-energetic personality, ridiculous confidence, and endless challenges with Kakashi make every scene hilarious.

His funniest moments include his constant speech about enjoying the Youth, his over-the-top training sessions, and his reactions to everything. He has no self-awareness, seeing how he would be having a conversation with someone and randomly get hit by a tree bark and fall, or how he does not understand that his reactions are being judged as something different by others.

His iconic green jumpsuit adds to his funny personality. Guy’s comedy is unmatched because he fully believes in everything he does, no matter how ridiculous. His energy, enthusiasm, and rivalry with Kakashi make him Naruto’s funniest character.

Conclusion

Naruto undoubtedly had more characters who were funny, like Choji and his always need to have food, or Tsunade and her gambling addiction. Yet these characters consistently made us laugh the most compared to anyone else.

Masashi Kishimoto is a genius, he did state that he was inspired by Dragon Ball, and it is seen in characters like Jiraya, who has hints of Master Roshi’s personality. Naruto is one of the classics in anime which ended up carving its name in history.

Even now, when new people want to get into anime, they mostly start with Naruto. The life story of Naruto is inspiring, and all these characters remind us that whatever might be happening in our life, it is better to be okay and laugh it off. All 8 of these characters had something unfortunate happen in their life, but they never let go of their quirky personalities. It is commendable at best.
