In this guide, we shall go over how to increase charm slots and assign charms to those vacant slots in Path of Exile 2 (PoE2).
The world of Path of Exile 2 is beautiful, tragic, and, most of all, unforgiving. All sorts of monsters roam these lands and can be a menace to deal with. You will frequently find yourself ambushed by hordes and mobs or overwhelmed by the game’s many bosses. The game incentivizes you to level the playing field through the use of appropriate gear and charms. Charms in Path of Exile 2 are items that provide defensive stat boosts and various other immunities that help you in battle.
However, the charm slots in the game are limited, and this can be a problem in the late game. In this guide, we shall go over how to increase charm slots in Path of Exile 2.
How To Increase Charm Slots
There are a maximum of three charm slots that you can use in Path of Exile 2. The number of charm slots you possess is determined by the belt in your inventory. If you have no charm slots, we recommend immediately heading to a merchant and purchasing a belt to be able to equip charms.
To check the charm slots assigned to your belt, head over to your inventory and hover the cursor over the belt. This will display a small box that shows the name and bonus effects of the belt. You will also see “Charm Slots: ___” in this box.
Alternatively, you can look at the charm inventory box below to see the slots available. If you unequip the belt, your charm slots will disappear, and you will not be able to equip any charms until you re-equip the belt.
As such, the charm slots you have are tied to the belts you use. You can increase the number of charm slots you have by switching to a belt that allows more to you. Look for belts that grant a +2 or +3 modifier to charm slots in order to equip more charms.
However, you are unlikely to find such belts in the first act of the game. You will only find them later on. Until then, we recommend investing in and upgrading the belt you currently have to unlock more charm slots for it.
How To Use Charm Slots
You use charm slots by first equipping a belt in your inventory. Each belt grants you a single charm slot at the minimum, which can then be changed or upgraded as we discussed above. To use the slot available to you, simply select the charm you wish to use from the inventory. The charm will then be moved to the charm slot and can be seen on the upper section of the inventory.
