Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) offers vast maps and hotspots that players can Fast Travel to. But is there a way to get by quickly using a mount?
Mounts would make getting across the map in Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) much easier. That’s one of the purposes that a mount fulfills. But does that mean that Path of Exile 2 developers added these mounts to the game?
Sadly, the answer is no. As of now, PoE2 doesn’t have the ability to let players mount anything, let alone an animal. There are no vehicles or mounts to get around the maps. However, if you do wish to avoid a fight and are just passing through, you can just keep running until you find the entrance to the next area.
While you are finding these shortcuts to get around fights and traveling faster in the game, Grinding Gear Games is probably figuring out how to add a mount to smoothen your gameplay. We can say that with certainty because the game already has mounted Rhoas in the game that are either occupied or abandoned. Either way, you can’t mount them. But this is a beacon of hope.
When To Expect a Mount in PoE2?
The gameplay footage earlier in 2024 showed a Ranger class character riding around on a Rhoa, fighting enemies. The Ranger was shooting shock arrows at enemies while riding around. Until now, there hasn’t been any concrete information as to when you can acquire a ranger; we believe that it will be a feature in Act 4, which comes out with the full release of the game in 2025.
So far, any information that we have on the mounts in the game is related to what we have already seen. Once they are added to the game, you can expect the following:
- Climbing the mount to get around faster and explore bigger areas more efficiently.
- Ranged classes can shoot while mounted.
- The mount itself can also fight as your minion in combat situations.
Some people in the community expect that the mount feature will be added as a skill gem in the game and won’t be readily available to use by default upon the game’s full release. Moreover, we are hoping that the mount ‘drive-by’ is not just limited to Rangers and Mercenaries but also includes the Warrior and other classes, incorporating their respective attacks.
