Black Kyurem has finally made its debut in Pokemon GO during the Unova Tour. This powerful fusion of Kyurem and Zekrom will be available to players globally during the Pokemon GO Tour: Unova Global. Black Kyurem is a powerful legendary fusion monster that is of dual Dragon- and Ice-types.
You can get Black Kyurem during the Pokemon GO Tour: Unova Global, which runs on March 1 and 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time. However, it will also be available in some cities earlier as part of the exclusive in-person events. If you are situated in New Taipei City or Los Angeles, you can get Black Kyurem from February 21 to February 23, 2025.

How To Get Black Kyurem in Pokemon GO?
The only way to get Black Kyurem in Pokemon GO is by defeating it in 5-star Raids during the Pokemon GO Tour: Unova. Whether you take part in exclusive in-person events or during a global event, the method remains the same.
You must defeat Black Kyurem in the 5-star Raids and collect Volt Fusion Energy. After you have collected the necessary amount of Volt Fusion Energy, you must use DNA Splicers and some Candies for both Pokemon to fuse Kyurem and Zekrom to obtain this variant.
How To Fuse Kyurem With Zekrom in Pokemon GO?
You will need the following to fuse Kyurem and Zekrom in Pokemon GO to obtain Black Kyurem:
- 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy
- 30 Kyurem Candy
- 30 Zekrom Candy
Needless to say, you will also need a Zekrom and Kyurem to fuse these two Pokemon together. Once you have all the necessary items, look for Kyurem in your Pokemon section. Scroll down till you find the evolution space, and then select Zekrom. With that, you have successfully fused both critters to obtain this Kyurem Fusion.
If your Kyurem knew the Charged Attack Glaciate, then the fused Black Kyurem will also know the move Freeze Shock.
How To Get Shiny Black Kyurem in Pokemon GO?
You must fuse a Shiny Kyurem with any Zekrom to get a Shiny Black Kyurem in Pokemon GO. The variant of Zekrom does not affect the fusion at all, and the Shiny factor resides with Kyurem only. As such, fusing a non-shiny Kyurem with a Shiny Zekrom will not result in a Shiny Black Kyurem in Pokemon GO.
How To Get Volt Fusion Energy in Pokemon GO?
You can get Volt Fusion Energy by defeating Black Kyurem in 5-star Raids in Pokemon GO. Black Kyurem will appear in 5-star Raids during the Pokemon GO Tour: Unova during both the exclusive in-person events and the global event.
You might also get some Volt Fusion Energy from Special Researches that appear during the Unova Tour. However, information on this is not available right now. We will update this section with the relevant details once it is available.
