Here is a guide on how you can start the Payphone Hits missions in GTA Online and what rewards they give upon completion.
Payphone Hits in GTA Online allows you to work as a gun for hire and assassinate targets. It is a Free Mode job that is part of The Contract update. This job is handed to you by Franklin. However, you will need to complete other tasks in order to start your assassination attempts.
After completing a hitman mission, there is a cooldown of 10 minutes before you can start another one. This means it can be a lucrative side hustle if you enjoy roleplaying as a hitman. However, the time limit can be a problem, especially if you need to end the mission by evading the cops. Make sure you have a durable car like the Kuruma (Armored).

How To Start Payphone Hits in GTA Online
To start doing the Payphone Hits in GTA Online, you will need to do the following:
- Purchase an Agency Business
- Complete Three Security Contracts
- Wait for Franklin’s Call
- Wait for Random Payphones To Ring or Call Franklin

Purchase an Agency Business
Before anything else, you will need to purchase and set up an Agency Business in the game. You can purchase one of the four available properties from the Dynasty 8 Executive website from your in-game phone.
Here are the locations and their respective pricing:

You only need to purchase one Agency to start the Payphone Hits in GTA Online.
Complete Three Security Contracts
After you have established your Agency Business, you will need to complete three Security Contracts. You can repeat the same mission three times or play separate unique missions. It doesn’t matter as long as you finish three of them in the game. You can do a Rescue Operation as it is well known for being quick and easy to complete.
Wait for Franklin’s Call
After completing three Security Contract missions, Franklin should give you a call about the job offer. However, he clarifies that the FIB might be listening to mobile phone calls. This is why he will try and contact you again through payphones.
Wait for Random Payphones To Ring or Call Franklin
Once Franklin is done with his first call, you will start randomly hearing payphones ring. You can take the call to accept the Payphone Hits missions in GTA Online. You can also try and call Franklin to manually start a quest and a nearby payphone should ring. Keep in mind that there is a 10-minute cooldown between missions. You will have to wait a while before you can start another assassination mission. You also cannot call Franklin while the mission is on cooldown.
Franklin will give you a specific target that will be marked on the map. You only have 15 minutes to complete the assassination. Additionally, an extra task will be given to you that can increase your payout when done successfully. If you fail to do the extra task given, the cops might be on your tail and you need to take them down or evade before the timer ends.
Payphone Hits Rewards in GTA Online
Completing a Payphone Hits mission in GTA Online will reward players with $15,000 in-game cash and an additional $30,000 if the bonus criteria are met. That’s a total of $45,000 per mission completed. Additionally, Associates will also receive $15,000 and another $10,000 for the bonus rewards.
Completing a mission using the Assassination Bonus method for the first time will have additional rewards for the leader and associates. A medal trophy will be placed in your agency office. Here are the following trophies:
- The CEO – Yellow Construction Helmet
- The Cofounder – Sticky Bomb
- The Dealers – Merryweather-Branded Cap
- The Hitmen – Coil Logo
- The Judge – Gold Ball and Tee
- The Popstar – Annis Euros Car Model
- The Tech Entrepreneur – Taxi Car Model
- The Trolls – iFruit Laptop With Bullet Holes
If associates don’t have an Agency yet, the trophies will still be shown as soon as they purchase one. This means you don’t have to worry about missing out on the Payphone Hits rewards in GTA Online if you don’t have an agency yet.
