If you are having trouble defeating the Oil Rig Stronghold in Palworld, you have come to the right place for guidance.
The Oil Rig Stronghold in Palworld can be a painful process to complete. Well actually, most of the strongholds in the game are pretty difficult if you don’t know what you should be doing. And that is exactly what we wish to change for your next playthrough.
Part of the Sakurajima update back in mid-2024, Palworld introduced the Rayne Syndicate Oil Rig. It is important to note that there are many ways for you to complete this stronghold. So, what you are about to read below mostly contains the writer’s subjective views.
The oil rig in question is fortified with heavy defenses that can shoot you down if you dare to invade them via air. So, the best way to reach it is with the help of an aquatic pal like Surfent, Azurobe, or Jormuntide. Since it is located around the coordinates (606, -438), we suggest that you head to the Marsh Island teleport waypoint and go southeast from there via your swimming monster friend.
Studying the Rayne Syndicate Oil Rig in Palworld
As we mentioned above, the defenses of this stronghold are top-notch. You won’t find them slacking when it comes to their impenetrable defense. So, if you were planning to drop by in style, we highly recommend you change your course. You will find soldiers here and think to yourself that you have the upper hand. But that can’t be far from the truth.
The soldiers, and their pals here, are all Level 55. There may be some exceptions to this case. Expect the following soldiers:
- Syndicate Gunner
- Syndicate Interceptor
- Syndicate Elite
- Syndicate Hunter
- Syndicate Grenadier
- Syndicate Veteran
- Syndicate Crusher
Pals like Jormuntide Ignis, Ragnahawk, Gobfin Ignis, and Blazehowl Noct can also be found on the rig, waiting to attack you and anybody else on your party.
Defeating the Giant Oil Rig Stronghold in Palworld
Your main objective is to wreak absolute havoc on this oil rig. Pulling a “Rico Rodriguez” in a non-Just Cause game isn’t that easy, though. But before you claim the main loot, make sure to clear every corner of the rig.
However, before you find and hunt down each enemy, we suggest that you locate automated defense units on the platform. These will be machines that automatically target and shoot at you regularly. Having them around can be too chaotic and not for your own good. Prioritize disabling or destroying them. Then, you can use your pals much more freely.
By “destroying,” we don’t mean that you should just shoot away at these units because that wouldn’t work. Each time, you must interact with the devices by walking up close to them. Make sure to secure your surroundings, though. Otherwise you won’t be able to complete your objectives in peace.
The next tactic to pay attention to is the red barrels placed all over the location. If you shoot them, they explode. Classic video game mechanics. So, try to lure in enemies in that area before shooting them away. This will help clear out the oil rig much quicker.
The Reward for Clearing Out the Oil Rig in Palworld
If you had unlocked the high-tier lockpicking skills before coming here, you are going to enjoy what’s next. There are several high-tier chests on this rig. They require keys to unlock. So, if you have these skills unlocked, you won’t have much trouble picking them. Moreover, you don’t have to come here again just for the caches.
The main supply cache, however, gives you the following items:
- Crude Oil (120)
- Ancient Civilization Core (3)
- Rocket Ammo (90)
- Speed Lotus (L) (1)
- Quad Missile Launcher Schematic (1)
You will also get plenty of Crude Oil from enemies and chests that you find here.
