Follow through the Assassination of Dong Zhuo in Dynasty Warriors Origins with the help of this simple walkthrough.
Assassination of Dong Zhuo is a simple yet difficult quest in Dynasty Warriors Origins. Players are time-bound and can also fail this mission for a different outcome. The fail criterion is if Cao Cao is forced to flee. Alternatively, the quest will be a success if players can defeat Dong Zhuo. We will be focusing on the latter.
There are not a lot of open-ended ways that you can go about in this quest. So, we will be pointing out the exact way we successfully put down Dong Zhuo in this short battle. If Lu Bu had been causing you trouble before, don’t worry. We will take care of him as well.
Defeating Dong Zhuo in Dynasty Warriors Origins
Preparing for the Battle
When you are preparing to put down Dong Zhuo in Dynasty Warriors Origins, you must only grab the best possible build for your fight. This is because you will be exposed to several dangerous situations. We suggest that you begin the battle with the following gear equipped:
- Weapon: General’s Sword (Longsword)
- Gem: Oblivion Gem
- Battle Arts: Swallow Slash, Sp. Absconding Slash, Sp. Palm Strike, Falcon Flurry
- Accessory: Ravenous Spirit Amulet
If you don’t have or don’t wish to use certain items from this build, you can switch things up. After all, the goal is completing the mission successfully in one way or the other.
First Phase of the Mission
The main mission starts after a cutscene where Diaochan attempts to kill Dong Zhuo but fails horribly. This is where things go south, and you must escape with Cao Cao. Don’t forget that Lu Bu, who has pledged his support to Zhuo, will continue to stalk you during the entire level. He might be too strong for you right now, so don’t bother attacking him.
Run south as quickly as possible and defeat the officers before you exit the main courtyard. You will also have to face Hu Feng. Make sure that you don’t take too much time because Lu Bu is constantly on your tail. After defeating the two officers here, go inside with Cao Cao and follow him to the east. You can use your special attacks to breach through shields.
You will find a guard named Dong Min in the Treasury. He is pretty annoying to fight because of his big mace weapon. However, once you have laid waste to him by perfectly evading his attacks, you can pick up the Staff weapon that he drops.
Activate Eyes of the Sacred Bird and find a Secret Passage. Use this new passageway to avoid enemy detection for a while. A fight with Huche’er is close, though. So be ready and finish him as quickly as possible. Once you defeat him, head south and clear out the soldiers on the way there. You must free Xun You now. But this can’t happen unless Wang Fang is defeated.
The Final Phase
Free your new ally after defeating Wang Fang and Xun You will then distract the enemy. You should take a different route to keep Cao Cao safe. All you need to do now is head west, kick open the closed door, and defeat the Mighty Dong Zhuo General. Some soldiers will also join the fight.
Li Su and Hu Zhen wait inside the building with various guards. First, you must put an end to the main officers before worrying about the shielded troops. All of this must be done quickly because remember that Lu Bu was on your tail all along. However, you can just keep kiting him around the room until Xiahou Yuan comes along to cause a distraction.
Now, you can run over to the escape objective with Cao Cao. On your way out, you will meet Gao Shun. You can make quick work of him by spamming your Bravery/Musou attacks. The next step is to relax and watch the cutscene as you escape.
