Ultrakill is one of the most famous and innovative fast-paced boomer shooters of this generation. Inspired by the likes of Devil May Cry and Quake, it outshines every game in its genre with Doom Eternal-esque mechanics but cranks up the high-octane action to the max.

It features multiple unique mechanics for new and old players to discover, including Slam Storage. This mechanic stores the momentum in V1’s body and gives him a major boost in either jumping or dashing. Here’s how to use the Slam Storage in Ultrakill effectively.

To save your momentum using Slam Storage, jump into a wall and hold the movement key until V1’s metal screeches. That metal sliding sound is your queue to press the Jump and Slide button simultaneously.

If it’s done successfully, you will see yellow lines appearing on your screen. To maximize Slam Storage’s effect, it is used in two different ways:

Long Jump

For a Long Jump, use Slam Storage and at the exact frame when V1 hits the ground, press the Jump button.

It will ultimately save stamina and can be used as a last resort to escape a wave of enemies.

Faster Dash Jumps

To make Dash Jumps more efficient and less hectic, Slam Storage allows V1 to initiate comparatively faster Dash Jumps. To do so, execute the Slam Storage and press the slide button once you hit the ground.

As soon as V1 starts sliding, press the Jump button for a Dash Jump that covers a huge distance in less than a second. These Dash Jumps are quite useful to save your time if you’re beating your own set time record or trying to enter the speedrunner’s league.
