Unlike many other boomer shooters, Ultrakill has a style-ranking system inherited from the Devil May Cry series. The quicker and more efficiently you kill the demons, the higher the chances you have of receiving the highest P-Rank score.
While the requirements for P-rank are simply to meet the time, kills, and style requirements, it sometimes feels like a hectic chore that may require several restarts. If you’re failing to reach the maximum rank in a level, you’re at the right place. Here are some of the best tips for P-ranking levels in Ultrakill.
Tips for P-Ranking Levels
There are many factors related to reaching the maximum score in levels, and several of them are easy to follow. Be time-efficient and follow the linear pathway provided by the level to never miss the random enemy spawns. Additionally, the level has to be completed without any deaths. Dying even once can cost you a hefty amount of time, as you will have to restart the level completely.
However, besides the time-and-kill requirement, the style system plays the most important role. Unlike the other stats, the style system has a myriad of tricks to maximize its efficiency. They are as follows:
Utilize Every Weapon
Ultrakill provides a huge arsenal of five weapons with three variants for each of them. Utilizing all of them throughout the level can provide a significant boost to the style score.
The use of a singular weapon and its variants can cause the style multiplier to drop down gradually to the point where it becomes null; the score will become static.
Quickdraws
Drawing and shooting your weapon immediately is called a Quickdaw, which increases your style quite fast. It works with both weapons and variants, and to pull it off, simply hold left click and keep shifting weapons/variants.
However, all Railcanon variants cannot be used for Quickdraw.
Sawblade and Marksman Revolver Are Your Best Friends
Whenever you feel your style score is falling behind the required mark, Sawblades and Marksman Revolver can boost the score by a huge mile. The most efficient way of using the Sawblade is by putting the magnets in the middle of a horde and shooting the blades.
These revolving blades will kill every demon in the horde immediately, providing a maximum style score multiplier.
The Marksman Revolver can be used to kill Drones and Street Cleaners instantly. The Street Cleaner instant kill is additionally counted as a parry, ultimately providing a huge boost to your score. To do so, throw the coin behind a Street Cleaner and shoot it to ricochet the bullet on their propane tank on the back.
