Twitch issued a 30-day ban to H3 Podcast host and YouTuber Ethan Klein for playing his “content nuke” video on Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker during a livestream. Klein told his audience that he was banned for “encouraging or glorifying extreme violence.” Twitch retracted the ban after 24 hours without explanation, leaving Klein and his audience confused.

The content nuke Klein streamed highlights allegations of antisemitism, misogyny, and hate speech against HasanAbi. Klein seemed upset at the ban and accused Twitch of favoritism toward Hasan. He said that the clips in his video were from HasanAbi’s channel and that there was no reason to ban him.

Ethan Klein is not the first content creator to accuse Twitch of being lenient toward Hasan. Recently, Twitch streamers Felix “xQc” Lengyel and Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt also criticized Twitch for their allegedly inconsistent moderation practices that favor certain streamers. Twitch has not responded to the recent criticisms by some of its biggest content creators.

Ethan Klein Calls Out Twitch’s Moderation Practices

On March 5, 2025, Ethan Klein posted a YouTube video explaining his ban on Twitch. He told his audience:

“Oh, my god! It (Klein’s channel) got banned for encouraging or glorifying extreme violence! That’s f*cking…that’s Hasan’s content that is on your platform that he didn’t get in trouble for. Holy f*ck! Whoa!”

Klein read out the official Twitch message that detailed his ban. It alleged that Klein’s content contained violent acts that could cause the death or physical harm of people. He showed the message to his fans, and it said:

“Examples of violative conduct include, but are not limited to: Inciting others to burn down a police station. Encouraging others to physically assault people at a protest, explicitly stating that a group of people should be killed. Where the violation occurred: On stream or VOD. Content title: Content Nuke Rerun.”

Klein alleged that Twitch is biased toward HasanAbi and claimed the platform has inconsistent moderation. The YouTuber was upset at the platform and appealed for an unban. After rejecting his first unban request, the platform automatically restored his channel without communication.

Why Are Klein and HasanAbi Feuding?

Ethan Klein and HasanAbi used to work together on podcasts and covered a range of political issues. On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian organization Hamas attacked Israeli citizens and escalated the long-running Israel-Palestine conflict. Hasan holds a pro-Palestinian stance, while Klein, who is half-Jewish, supports the Jewish state of Israel. Their political differences created conflict between them, and they stopped working together.

After splitting up, the two content creators continued to feud with each other over various issues. On February 2, 2025, Klein posted his content nuke video with over an hour of clips that attempt to showcase Hasan’s alleged antisemitism, misogyny, and hate speech.

Hasan responded to the video, asking Klein to debate him, saying:

“Ethan Klein. If you want to have a conversation with me, I am available. I can talk to you about any number of political disagreements that we have. Except, this time, I am not going to be f*cking nice to you. I am not going to be treating you with kiddy gloves.”

Klein refused to debate Hasan and posted a second content nuke. Hasan responded to the allegations, stating that the clips used against him were taken out of context to defame him and that he has not directly sorted the issue with his former podcast co-host.
