The Cake is Not a Lie is an achievement or trophy that you can obtain by finding a fun Easter egg during Chapter 4 (Final Dawn) of Split Fiction. The achievement is hidden behind a false wall in the side-scrolling segment of the chapter. The area can be tricky to find, so let us go through it step by step.
The Cake Is Not a Lie Trophy Guide
Following the Run and Gun checkpoint, you will reach an area with multiple purple portals. Jump into the first portal, and while in the air, maneuver to the right to enter the next one. As you fall through its connecting portal and a door opens before you, shoot the portal ahead. Your lasers will go through and destroy the sentry waiting on the upper floor.
Run through the portals and climb the three metal crates stacked in front of you. Instead of jumping down into the final portal, wall jump up and to the left. A door will open, granting access to the secret room. There will be a large cake waiting inside with a single candle lit on top.
This section of the map, the Easter egg, and the achievement itself are references to the Portal game by Valve. The room will also have two purple portals, one placed above and the other below it. If you step into it, you will fall endlessly through the portals, picking up speed until you reach terminal velocity. This is a popular mechanic of the Portal games and is even used to solve some of their puzzles.
