The Nightfarers in Elden Ring Nightreign serve as the “classes” of the game, offering unique abilities, passive perks, and more. However, unlike the base Elden Ring experience, where classes act as a baseline for your build in the opening hours, the Nightfarers play a much larger role in Nightreign. In Elden Ring, your starting class essentially determines what weapons and Incantations you can use early on. But as you progress, you’re free to branch off in any direction. You can start as a Samurai and finish the game as a Mage or Prophet.

In Nightreign, however, your starting class remains consistent throughout the entire experience. The role you choose at the start of a run plays a more significant part during the game’s full runtime. Here’s a look at all the Nightfarers (classes) in Elden Ring Nightreign.

What Is a Nightfarer in Elden Ring Nightreign?

Nightfarers are much like the Tarnished, the protagonists of Elden Ring Nightreign. However, instead of being a single individual destined to overthrow the Demigods, the Nightfarers are a group of warriors, each with unique skills. There are a total of eight Nightfarers in Nightreign, each serving as a class you can choose. Every Nightfarer has a passive ability, a character-specific skill, and an Ultimate Art. The passive ability is a background bonus that remains active, such as additional Poise or reduced FP consumption. Character skills, on the other hand, are active abilities that operate on cooldowns.

These character skills are essentially the main tools you’ll use to deal damage to enemies, in addition to the Ash of War (weapon arts). Lastly, there’s the Ultimate Art, which is the most powerful ability of a Nightfarer. The Ultimate Art can have both offensive and defensive functions. While it’s the strongest move available, Ultimate Arts have extremely long cooldown periods.
