The title has accumulated a huge legion of gamers who have decided to become vampires in the game’s world. Gathering materials and building your own castle is a core element of the gameplay loop in V Rising.
The Stygian Shard is a relatively new addition that is essential for progression in the endgame. So, in this article, we will tell you how to get Stygian Shard as well as its uses in V Rising.
How To Get Stygian Shards in V Rising
As we touched on earlier, the Stygian Shard in V Rising is a crucial material that many players will need in the end phases of the game. This particular material exists because of Dracula himself, and you can acquire it by doing certain activities.
Right now, Rift Incursions are the only way to get some Stygian Shards. These events only occur in Ruins of Mortium, and players will have to possess the Eye of Mortium to trigger the Incursions. Furthermore, there are two types of Rift Incursons in V Rising. The basic or standard version provides the normal Stygian Shards and is tailored towards players who are level 57 or higher.
On the other hand, the advanced Rift Incursions are made for players with level 80 or above, with Greater Stygian Shards as rewards. Once you reach any of these events, your primary objective will be to clear all enemies in the area and close the rift. Usually, players have to repeat this process at least three times, with the difficulty increasing each time. And sometimes the game even spawns previously defeated V Blood bosses. Lastly, you will get the Stygian Shards as rewards once the rift is closed.
How To Use Stygian Shards in V Rising
V Rising players can use the Stygian Shards in a variety of ways. And since now you know how to get them, it is time to learn the various uses. You can use Stygian Shards in three situations: Vampire Merchants, Altar of Stygian Awakening, and Stygian Summoning Circle. Now, we will discuss these in detail.
Vampire Merchants
Players will be able to find two different Vampire Merchants in the Ruins of Mortium. One works with standard Stygian Shards, while the other requires the Greater variant. Moreover, you will be able to access Ancestral Weapon Shards by spending Stygian Shards, which will make your character stronger. However, it will be in a random order, except for the weapon type.
Altar of Stygian Awakening
Another great use of Stygian Shards in V Rising is the Altar of Stygian Awakening. Players can build this Altar in their castle and spend Stygian Shards on it to gain some passive buffs during their playthrough. Additionally, you will be able to choose abilities with multiple tiers from every type of magic in the game.
Stygian Summoning Circle
The Stygian Summoning Circle allows players to summon an enemy with a specific set of loot. It is the last use of Stygian Shards in V Rising. Players will be able to combine Stygian Shards with some other materials to bring forth a certain Blood enemy. Once you defeat it, the enemy will drop a certain type and number of items. Lastly, the Stygian Summoning Circle is a great way to farm necessary items in V Rising.
