AMD’s newest Radeon RX 9060 XT is creating waves on the internet as it appears to be faster than the Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, while being cheaper with double the memory. Budget users have been waiting for a good graphics card for a long time, and users believe the Radeon RX 9060 XT GPU could be it for them. However, modern graphics cards are more than just raw FPS numbers. Things like ray tracing, upscaling, memory capacity, and power consumption also play a significant role.

That’s why we have decided to compare the Radeon RX 9060 XT and RTX 5060 Ti, and which one is actually better. Read on to learn more.

Nvidia made a lot of buzz during the launch of the RTX 50 series GPUs with words like Neural Rendering, transformative AI, and whatnot, but we are yet to see a game made with them. The Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti had some potential, but its higher price tag and lower performance improvement left a lot to be desired. It seems AMD wants to take advantage of the situation by making the Radeon RX 9060 XT cheaper and better than the RTX 5060 Ti.

However, whether the Radeon card is actually better than the RTX 5060 Ti remains to be seen. Let’s compare the two GPUs in detail, starting with their specs.

Performance Comparison

According to the first-party benchmarks provided by AMD, the Radeon RX 9060 XT is about 6% faster than the RTX 5060 Ti at 1440p in a 40-game benchmarking test. This test included both rasterization and ray tracing, and the Radeon GPU was faster in both categories on average. However, AMD tested the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB variant against the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB variant, which is unfair because some games tend to use more than 8GB of memory. On the other hand, it seems fair because the former is cheaper than the latter.

Nonetheless, they are first-party benchmarks, so there’s a good chance of some cherry-picked results. Even if you consider that both GPUs have the same performance for the sake of argument, the Radeon GPU still offers better value since it is cheaper and has double the memory. Also, the days of Nvidia’s superior software capabilities are numbered. AMD has already demonstrated FSR 4 can go toe-to-toe with DLSS 4 and is bringing more technologies, like Ray Regeneration, Neural Radiance Cache, and more, in the second half of 2025.

Price Comparison

The Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti starts at $379 for the 8GB variant and $429 for the 16GB, while the Radeon RX 9060 XT costs $299 for the 8GB model and $349 for the 16GB variant. This makes the highest variant of the Radeon GPU cheaper than the lowest variant of the Nvidia RTX card. This is one of the reasons why some users are praising the Radeon GPU over the RTX on Reddit and X.

If we take the official AMD-provided benchmarks at face value, the Radeon RX 9060 XT is the better GPU out of the two. On top of that, the 16GB variant of the Radeon card is cheaper than the RTX 5060 Ti. The former will also have FSR 4, which is said to be closer to DLSS 4 than ever before. The Radeon graphics card will also receive Ray Regeneration, Neural Radiance Cache, and more later this year. So it will have the same features as the RTX 5060 Ti.

Based on all the above information, we will have to credit the Radeon RX 9060 XT as the better GPU. However, you should still wait for independent benchmarks to be absolutely sure.
