Elden Ring was a game with secrets around every corner. There were caves to explore, castles to raid, and camps to clear out, and as you went about doing so, you found strange circular arenas marked on the map. As you approached these arenas and interacted with them, a purple boss would then spawn, kicking off a ridiculously difficult boss fight. These arenas, the Evergoals, were a test of strength as a player, and now they’re back in Nightreign.
Evergaols in Elden Ring Nightreign work the same way as they did in the original. They allow you to summon fairly challenging bosses, which you can then beat to acquire runes to level up. Where they differ from the original is in how they unlock. In the original, you simply had to interact with the Evergaols to unlock them. In Nightreign, you need to use a special item, which is fairly difficult to find.

As you approach any of the Evergaols in Elden Ring Nightreign, you’ll notice a strange statue towards one of the ends. As you interact with the statue, it will prompt you to retrieve a Stonesword Key. You require Stonesword Keys to unlock Evergaols in Elden Ring Nightreign.
The problem arises with the rarity of these keys. In our early runs, we stumbled upon these keys only a handful of times. However, over the course of these runs, we’ve noted down a location where they seem to spawn consistently.
We’ve consistently found the Stonesword Key in the large cathedral-like areas in the game. This is the area where you fight the giant Golem boss. Sometimes, you also find the Oracle Envoys as a boss here. Defeat the boss and head over to the giant pedestal at the end. Loot the chest behind the pedestal to obtain a Stonesword key. Head to an Evergaol and interact with the statue to unlock and begin the boss fight.
