As Rainbow Six Siege closes in on its 10th anniversary, the popular PvP shooter has launched a reboot to freshen up the franchise. This reboot, Rainbow Six Siege X, covers up Siege with a fresh new, next-gen coat of paint. Siege is now truly next-gen, and the devs have realized its full potential with the new Dual Front mode.

The Dual Front mode is a new 6v6 mode that significantly deviates from the core principles of Siege. This game mode boasts a much different identity from what Siege has presented itself as for the past decade.

Dual Front is also very confusing, regardless of whether you’re a new player or a returning Siege veteran. If you’ve just hopped into Dual Front and have no idea what is going on, we’re here to help. In this guide, we shall go over Rainbow Six Siege X’s Dual Front mode and discuss it in detail.

Dual Front in Rainbow Six Siege X is a 6v6 mode in which you have to attack and defend at the same time. There are no exclusive attacker/defender operator pools, and instead, you have a mixed pool of characters to pick from. The game mode also has unlimited respawns, though you have to wait an excruciating 30 seconds to do so.

As soon as you spawn into the game, you’ll see a site that reads ‘Attack’ and another that reads ‘Defend.’ Your goal is, therefore, to attack the enemy site while defending yours. The map is divided into sectors, each with its own ‘Attack’ and ‘Defend’ sites. A Neutral Zone cuts through these sites, where gunfights are all that matter.

Attack the enemy objective and plant the Sabotage Kit. You’ll then have to defend this kit till the timer goes off, after which you’ll have captured the area. The game will then notify you of a new sector opening up. Along the way, you’ll also get assignments that will provide boosts and increase your chances of victory. Progress through the sectors and capture enemy objectives to move to other sectors, and eventually the enemy HQ. Capture this HQ to secure victory.
