How To Defeat Jevil in Deltarune

As with many other enemies in the game, you can defeat Jevil in two ways; You can either FIGHT him until his HP falls to zero, or you can make him Tired and then Pacify him. The route you choose to beat Jevil will determine the reward you get at the end. FIGHTing takes slightly less time, while Pacifying Jevil is slightly easier. Therefore, you can choose whichever route you want, as both are around equally difficult.
If you are choosing to Pacify Jevil, then you will need to tire him out. Jevil is unique in that you cannot tire him out by harming him. There are specific ACTs you can take during the fight that make Jevil slightly more Tired each time. The fight against Jevil is divided into 5 phases in total. Jevil enters a new phase at certain health thresholds or when he is tired enough. These phases are as follows:
- Phase 1: Starting phase
- Phase 2: Jevil’s Tiredness must be at least 2, or his HP must be 2800 or lower (80%).
- Phase 3: Jevil’s Tiredness must be at least 4, or his HP must be 2100 or lower (60%).
- Phase 4: Jevil’s Tiredness must be at least 6, or his HP must be 1400 or lower (40%).
- Phase 5: (Automatically entered after Phase 4’s final attack)
When each phase starts (with the exception of Phase 5), Jevil begins with a fixed order of 4 attacks. After using these attacks in order, he then uses attacks from that phase randomly. In Phase 5, Jevil will randomly use any of his attacks from all of the phases.

How To Pacify Jevil
Jevil can be Pacified if his Tiredness reaches 9. On your turn, you will have access to two unique ACTs – Pirouette and Hypnosis. Pirouette costs 20% TP, will increase Jevil’s Tiredness by 0.5, and will cause a random effect to take place depending on the turn you use it in. These effects are:
- Turn 1: Cannot be used due to lack of TP.
- Turn 2: Lowers Jevil’s defense by 4.
- Turn 3: Reduces invincibility frames for this turn.
- Turn 4: Decreases Jevil’s Attack by 30% for this turn
- Turn 5: No combat effect.
- Turn 6: Heals 25-55 HP for a random party member.
- Turn 7: Party members’ HP bars are shuffled. They will be restored after the battle.
- Turn 8: Increases Jevil’s Attack by 25% for this turn.
- Turn 9: Heals 36-50 HP for all party members.
After this, the cycle repeats. The recommended strategy is to use Pirouette on turns with positive effects and defend or heal as needed. If you have enough TP and everyone has enough HP, you can use Hypnosis, which costs 50% TP, to increase Jevil’s Tiredness by 1. That was everything to know about defeating Jevil in Deltarune.
