How to Obtain Retrofit Escapade
In order to obtain and craft this weapon you need the season pass for Season of the Seraph, and the Witch Queen DLC. You can receive it as a drop completing Seraph seasonal activities or focus it through the seasonal kiosk in the Helm. The Retrofit Escapade is crafted upon obtaining and completing five deepsight resonance versions of the weapons. There are three upgrades you will need in your seasonal upgrade path to ensure you are farming as efficiently as possible: Focusing Deepsight, Heisted Deepsight, and Seraphic Deepsight Bonus.
PVE – Retrofit Escapade God Roll
Slot | Perk |
Barrel | Arrowhead Break |
Magazine | Extended Mag |
Perk 1 | Fourth Times the Charm |
Perk 2 | Target Lock |
Origin Trait | Suros Synergy |
Masterwork | Stability |
Mod | Boss Spec |
Barrel: For the barrel perk, we are going with Arrowhead Break. This will give you better recoil direction giving you a better opportunity to land back to back shots this is incredibly important with our damage perk choice.
Magazine: With the magazine we are going to get twenty one extra bullets by going with Extended Mag. While this perk does remove some of our reload speed it allows us to keep firing, letting us keep up our damage perk for as long as possible.
Perk 1: Fourth Times the Charm is the must-have perk here. This generates us two bullets everytime we land four precision shots. With this perk we can effectively double your base magazine.
Part 2: Lastly, Target Lock is a new perk released in Season 19 that has come out the gate incredibly strong. A five times stacking damage boost that increases your damage while you continue to hit the target. Now you will lose your stacks upon missing a single shot but with most bosses being incredibly large this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
Origin Trait: For PVE we are choosing Suros Synergy. This origin trait gives us extra handling and flinch resistance after reloading, increasing the chances of hitting our shots to keep up the damage boost.
Masterwork: For the masterwork, stability is the obvious pick. It not only reduces our recoil but also decreases our flinch giving us the best opportunity to not miss any bullets during the damage phase.
Mod: Boss spec is the only option here. This is a boss dps weapon so we want to give a mod that increases our boss damage.
Conclusion: Overall, Retrofit Escapade is a really strong machine gun helpful in any level of PVE. It can be used to add clear or a solid boss damage. Regardless, you would be hard pressed to find a scenario that this weapon isn’t strong in.
PVP – Retrofit Escapade God Roll
Slot | Perk |
Barrel | Arrowhead Break |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
Perk 1 | Heating up |
Perk 2 | Tap the Trigger |
Origin Trait | Ambush |
Masterwork | Stability |
Mod | Targeting Adjuster |
Barrel: For the barrel perk, we are going with Arrowhead Break. This will give you better recoil direction giving you a better opportunity to land back to back shots securing a kill.
Magazine: The magazine choice here is Accurized Rounds. This magazine increases our range allowing us to hit our enemy with the same damage from further away.
Perk 1: We are going with Heating Up. Heating Up gives a boost to accuracy, stability, and recoil direction for a short duration upon getting a kill. This will give the weapon a small boost in performance making it easier to chain kills.
Perk 2: The obvious choice here is Tap the Trigger since it gives a sizable boost to stability, recoil, and accuracy for your opening burst giving you a better chance to pick up a kill without missing any shots.
Origin Trait: For PVP we are going with Ambush. This gives a small boost in range and handling during the opening shots of our duels. This paired with our other perks make sure we secure any kill.
Masterwork: A stability masterwork is a must have. Stability not only reduces recoil making the weapon easier to control but it also decrease flinch from enemies letting you stay on target even if under fire.
Mod: Targeting Adjuster is a great choice here. This gives a small boost in your aim assist making your bullets more likely to hit the target.
Conclusion: Machine guns have solid usage in high combatant modes like control giving you an opportunity to chain multiple kills with the weapon every time you collect the heavy ammo spawn. With good perks giving you the best opportunity to land shots, you’ll be hard pressed to miss any shots.
The Retrofit Escapade has great base stats and some really nice synergistic perks. Being a machine gun its usage in PVE isn’t limited to just boss damage and in PVP it’s a great choice for multiple kills with your heavy weapon making it a must have for any guardian’s arsenal.
