New expansion sets for Pokemon TCG Pocket usually result in a change of the best decks to use for ranked matches. The Eevee Grove Booster Pack is no different in this regard, as it adds a lot of new and powerful cards to make decks with.

One such cheap and strong card is Alcremie, which relies on other Pokemon to use Sweets Relay to do heavy damage on its own. Here is a complete guide on how to make the best Alcremie deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Low energy, but high damage (Image via The Pokemon Company)

This deck is exceptional due to two main reasons. Firstly, most of the cards used are quite common, so it’s not very difficult to piece this deck together. Moreover, despite all the cards being cheap, the deck performs quite well competitively, due to its high damage-low energy cost ratio.

You can easily get most of the cards by trading older cards or buying new ones via pack points.

(Note: You should only use Water energy in this deck.)

Ideal Starting Hand for Best Alcremie Deck

The best hand for this deck would have Swirlix as your opening Pokemon. Along with other cards like Milcery to build on the bench, you can easily rack up two or three Sweets Relay before Swirlix (or Slurpuff) goes down. Pokemon Communication is also a good choice, which can let you swap in an extra Pokemon for something else you might need. Having Giant Cape and Irida is also great, to let Swirlix, Slurpuff, and Alcremie survive for longer.

Best Alcremie Deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket: Strategy

This guide is very basic in how it functions:

  • The main strategy is to use as many Sweets Relay as possible before Alcremie hits the field. This is because Alcremie deals 40 damage each time Sweets Relay has been used in the battle.
  • Moreover, Water energy is used in this deck to allow Supporter cards like Irida to heal your Pokemon.
  • Lastly, you need to time your Alcremie right to allow it to knock out enemy Pokemon and survive with extremely low HP.

Best Matchups for This Alcremie Deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Psychic-type cards will do 20 extra damage against many Fighting-type cards, making them ideal against strong Fighting-type cards. Other than this, this deck can also be quite viable against other slower decks, since this deck can quickly ramp up damage with Slurpuff, for just two energy. Oricorio stall decks would also fall flat against this deck, as none of the cards are ex-versions.

Counters To This Alcremie Deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket

All four cards in this deck are weak to Steel-type cards. Therefore, decks, which include Skarmory as a starter could be deadly for this deck. Additionally, Silvally could be deadly for this deck, as almost all the Pokemon have lower than 100 HP.

Best Alcremie Deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket Eevee Grove: Tips and Tricks

Here are some tips to use this deck in the most optimal manner:

  • You should hold off Alcremie for as long as possible so you can get the maximum damage. Using more Sweets Relay will only make Alcremie more deadly in the long run.
  • You want to start the battle with Swirlix, as Slurpuff is a good Pokemon for the middle game, with the ability to deal 90 damage for two energy. Meanwhile, since you are using Sweets Relay, Alcremie will be even stronger later in the game.
  • You need to plan out Irida carefully so you survive attacks that would otherwise knock out your Pokemon. Irida is the only reason the deck runs on water energy. This is possible because all the Pokemon use colorless energy for their attacks.
  • Take note of the opponent Pokemon’s HP. You can then calculate how many Sweets Relay you need to use before you can defeat them in one hit with Sweets Overload.
