1. Fresh Content

Season 3, as expected, will bring in new heroes, maps, modes, team-ups, events, and cosmetics with it. When Season 3 releases, Phoenix will become available as a playable Duelist. She will also bring a new Klyntar Domination map with her called Celestial Husk. In Season 3.5, Blade will also join the roster, likely with another map, which is yet to be confirmed. His addition further slims down the chances of Knull being added to the roster in Season 3. Chen has also teased a new mode being added to Competitive in the latter half of Season 3.5. Stay tuned for more details regarding the same.
2. New Cosmetic Item

Marvel Rivals wants us to have fun while obliterating the enemies (or getting obliterated). This is perhaps why they keep adding new cosmetics to the game. Players who enjoy customizing their heroes can now turn up the cuteness because the devs are now introducing “Accessories.” These are essentially like keychains and can be obtained by spending Accessory Points. The said points are earned by participating in both Quick Match and Competitive modes.
Devs are also introducing the Chroma Color customization to more costumes now, which will be revealed on the day of the update itself. Another customization they are adding is called Ultimate VFX. These effects can be bought using Unstable Molecules and applied to certain costumes. The new VFX effect will play when using the Ultimate but only for the user, to avoid confusion on the battlefield. To top it all off, MVP animations are now “free-equip.” This will allow players to equip any costume they own with any MVP screen they have bought already.
3. Currency and Battlepass Changes

The Battlepass operates on Chrono Tokens, however, the size and price of the same remain unchanged. Now that the seasons are shorter, players can face an issue trying to complete their current Battlepass (as well as the previous ones) because completing challenges doesn’t give you enough Chrono Tokens.
This has now been changed! Daily Challenges will be removed in Season 3. Weekly Challenges will remain available until the end of a season. However, you will need to complete them in order. Lastly, devs are adding Season Challenges. These will also remain until the end of a season and offer loads of Chrono Tokens.
Another change to the existing currency is that Unstable Molecules will now be available to obtain through the Battlepass and Events. You can then use them to customize your heroes by using their preferred Chroma Color variant or by buying an Ultimate VFX for one of their costumes.
4. UI Updates

Now you don’t need to locate your ongoing events on the notice board on the Home screen. In Marvel Rivals Dev Vision Vol 7, Chen revealed that a new Events tab will be added to the UI. It will allow you to keep track of ongoing Events in the game. Even the results page after a match is receiving a change. Players can track their event and other progress easily now.
Another change to the UI is that players will be able to add backgrounds to their team lobby starting in Season 3. The costume you equip for your display hero will now change the background to the background of that costume. Additionally, the Gallery section is getting updated. It will now also include cutscenes from loading screens for you to revisit and get re-familiar with the lore.
5. Additional Changes

College students playing Marvel Rivals will now get free costume trials and other perks if they verify their college emails with Marvel Rivals. This is only available in select regions like the USA, UK, etc. However, Chen promises to expand this new perk to more regions soon.
Last, but not least, the Dev Vision for Marvel Rivals Season 3 revealed a Discord Integration update. You will have to reconnect your Discord account with Marvel Rivals. Then, you can enjoy a seemless Discord experience integrated into the Marvel Rivals UI. You can also chat with your Marvel Rivals buddies on Discord directly.
