Umamusume Pretty Derby has found global popularity, as more players across the world turn to the fun and unique gacha horse racing game. You will get to train and race the favorite girls from the namesake anime series. However, there’s plenty of grinding involved if you want to unlock the best Support cards and characters in the game.

This is where the game’s Pity system plays a role. And it is quite different from many of the other popular gacha games. Failure to understand the Pity system in Umamusume Pretty Derby can often lead to you wasting valuable resources. So, in this guide, we’ll explore exactly how the system works.

Unlike most other gacha games, you can’t expect a rate-based Pity system here. So, you won’t get pulls that have a 50/50 chance or a guaranteed chance of acquiring a specific card. Instead, every time you pull, you will receive 1x Exchange Point. You will need to make 200 pulls to reach the necessary Exchange Points by which you can then get a banner’s SSR or Spotlight Featured Umamusume card. However, that doesn’t mean you have zero chances of acquiring either of these cards with each of those 200 pulls. During each pull, you have a 0.75% chance to get either the SSR or Spotlight Featured Umamusume cards.

One thing to keep in mind here is that the Exchange Points are not shared between the different banners. Instead, by the end of a run, all of the Exchange Points you have will transform into Clovers. Each banner lasts for around a week or so, so you’ll need to be quick if you want to acquire the featured card from them. At the same time, you’ll need plenty of Carats to get a hold of the featured card. Each pull requires you to spend 150 Carats. So, by the time you complete the 200 pulls to reach the Pity limit, you’ll have to spend 30,000 Carats.
